Do hosting companies check the whois of the domains they add?
Do hosting companies check the whois information to make sure it's correct before they add it to their servers?
Do they? Should they? ~Ray |
laf, no. why would they? it's your server, you pay them, why would they worry about something like that?
|
it's their server, you are leasing it.
~Ray |
Many hosts don't add the domains, the clients do.
|
I would hope that the hosting company is doing well enough that they don't have time to sit and go through all of the domains that they host.
|
No, its mostly automated. Some plans even allow you to add up to 20 domains, without host input...
If there are complaints, then we will look into that ... |
They're a hosting company, not a domain info police.
|
sooner or later we do check, we like to see what we host.
|
I doubt it, what if your host isn't the DNS record keeper on the domain? Why would a host even care, its ICANN that enforces this policy, not the hosts?
WG |
It would be way too much work for them
|
they don't give a fuck
I'm with 17 companies right now not a single one ever mentioned something when adding domains with false info |
like we don't have enough to do

Never thought about it. All my domains have my correct info.
|
We don't check domains unless there is a complaint. Too time consuming... some days hundreds of domains are added to our servers... you can't go through every one of those.
|
i sale short whois infos.
