Arcade games at home

I have a buddy that builds these killer arcade machines for home use. Each one plays 39 arcade games from the 1980's

Nice man...I can think of a few games I'd love to be playing.

Every time I go washing I play Galaga

I met this guy when I bought a refurbed PacMan from him. Then I built my own Mame Machine with 4000 games on it, and he was like... shit i can do that. But he gets these arcade boards with 39 games on it, so no computer issues to deal with. just plug it in and play, or flip the switch so that it has to take a quater to play.

I gots ta get/make me one of those. I've been wanting one for years now, ever since I came across MAME in the wild. Nothing like blasting your way through wave after wave of galaga baddies while the 80s retro collection is playing for maximum memory enhancement! :thumbsup

I've been to a few amusement shows before where dealers sell that sort of thing. A lot more $$$ than I first thought. The replicas are probably the way to go unless you want to pay $2,000 for an original Ms Pac Man tabletop.

I dont know, I'll ask him

I do know that the machine works on 110 volts, so you would need an adaptor or something if your home has 220 volts

he is staying away from that for simplicity reasons.. these never have problems, you just turn it on and play, plus there are no licensing issues with this compared to mame

pornguy 06-20-2005 04:38 PM

I love some of those games. Man I miss playing them.,

Loryn 06-20-2005 05:28 PM

I love all the 80's games. I would love to get one of those! Thanks for sharing! :thumbsup

Badass, I have a limited edition "Tommy" pinball machine (The Who album) and it kicks ass, would be great to get one of those arcade games. :thumbsup

evildick 06-20-2005 07:23 PM

I've always wanted to buy an old arcade game for my house (bid on a Gauntlet machine on ebay once or twice).

I've been running Mame and some other emulators on my XBox though lately, so I can't really justify the expense for one now.

It's not quite the same experience as playing on an original style cabinet, but it's still pretty cool playing them on an HDTV.

A pinball machine would still be cool though.

AVPS Zack 06-21-2005 09:31 AM

I want a sitdown SPY HUNTER.

Azlord 06-21-2005 09:36 AM

I like the real deal games better than the mame. I have an old Street FIghter, and Championship Sprit game. I wouldn't trade them for Mame.

Very cool, I grew up on those games... :thumbsup I would love one of those but the wife want a pin ball machine.

How much does it weigh? Any idea on shipping cost to south Florida?

You two could use a game room. And if you put them in the babies room, you'll spend tons of time with the girls that way!

Actually a game room is already in the works. Once the twins are born we can pick where we left off. Since the twins are due any day home improvement is on the backburner for now... :thumbsup
