Is the big quake coming?

Seems more and more quakes are being highlighted in the news.

Of course it's coming. It's inevitable that it will, short of the earth's crust cooling and fusing.

Is it coming sometime NEXT WEEK? Well, that's debatable. I certainly hope not, or if it is that I have time to get home and out of the left coast before it slides into the pacific. :winkwink:

What I'm wondering is when Yellowstone is going to go supervolcanic again. That'll make the 'big one' chump change in comparison.

I've been hearing that. I hope we get invaded my aliens.

Sooner or later it will come.
But I don't think any time soon. The last quakes has released a lot of tension.

bhutocracy 06-20-2005 12:48 AM

yeah.. yellowstone or a canary island volcano collapse gives me the willies. 9.0+ quakes are part of recent history and are comparatively common. Super volcanos and mega-tsunamis aren't... We don't even have the mental capacity to understand the ramifications of losing a 100's of millions of people let alone planning for the inevitability of it happening.. whether it's 10 or 100,000 years away.

I'm sure the big one is coming, but I hope it doesn't come while I still live here.

Sure we do.

kernelpanic 06-20-2005 05:39 AM

Of course its coming, the only question is when. :winkwink:

AdPatron 06-20-2005 05:48 AM

I'd like to see it.

CDSmith 06-20-2005 05:52 AM

Time to move to Saskatoon, Saskachewan.

Nothing ever happens there.

Yes it's coming, lets hope it comes at sea and is a shear and not a lift.

Platinumpimp 06-20-2005 06:34 AM
