It Maybe About Time? How About One Voice For Our Adult Biz? NOT TAKING ANYMORE SHIT
I dont know about all the rest of you but I am sick to my stomach and tired of hearing people saying that "never in a million years would we "they adult online industry form as a group". Cause if we did NOBODY could fuck with us.
DVD biz has there reps and keep together as one and our biz has passed them up and keeps growing yet we all remain to stay apart. Sure we go to shows and such, but now is the time i think IMHO to group together and it just would not take much. I choose to be vocal on this issue based on the posts about 2257 and .XXX, what will be next? I am so tired of having some group who i dont know who the fuck they are speaking and tell me and everyone else they speak for us, they dont. So instead of complaining about it, i talked to Brandon from Fight the Patent, and here is what we came up with. To Start: http://www.onevoiceadult.biz/ |
A constant battle for sure...mainstream constantly looks like a good alternative
|
this is a great idea... i want to help this become a reality :thumbsup

This has so much potential Mike. I applaude you for your efforts, and freash views. I think the wholeproblem in this willbe the whole "what is in it for me" To much greed, and not enough forsite. thats why we are being regulated by outsiders in the first place...... :disgust

Matt... you are so right, but lets just look at what is most important to us at this point in time. To me is protection of my rights to conduct my business and not be fucked with. "Together we concur and divided we fall" |

The page is very rough with placeholder text.
Looking to see if any web designers want to contribute design for logo and web page. It's only a 1 pager with the 3 columns like you see, which can expand downward as more text is added. Logos of sponsor programs will appear on the left hand side. winning designs will get super karma for helping out as well as a tagline at the bottom. graphics need to be 2257 compliant :) Fight the 7522! |
Let's storm the gates...

Herding cats is always a difficult task.
I applaud you for your efforts and initiative, though I have doubts. A voice would be a very good thing. Getting "everyone" to agree on what that voice should say will be a very interesting job... good luck. |

if brandon is involved then this is better than the usual right out of the gates. on the flip-side, you can't pigeonhole an estimated 4 billion dollar industry into "one voice" imho. |
Its true mike and I totally agree with your concept ..
Brandon , I can try getting someone to do the logo for you guys . I would do it but my design skills are lacking . Yeeeesh |

This is very true. That is the number one hurdle to overcome, however every group Teamsters, Music, Movie ect... all had the same hurdle to overcome, and found a way to get proper representation. It can happen, will it though? |

an excellent point, but the "one voice" is referring to FSC's representation of issues that affect the adult biz... thefore FSC = one voice for the industry The membership make-up of FSC is predominantly offline companies like video companies, but there are novelty stores, dvd distributors, etc. The internet section does not have much representation. When Michele took her position with FSC, a few of us chatted with her about looking to include more internet related issues and she said she welcomed internet businesses. FSC does look after its members interests first, which usually are in the best interests of all adult businesses. Having more FSC members join, via this idea that sponsors can help facilitate having their affiliates join by promoting the idea, will bring in more card carrying members, show greater numbers of active members, and lastly, additional $$ needed to maintain a long legal battle. Even in the internet space, there are many different groups... paysites, AVS, TGP, traffic brokers, CC processors, attorneys, other services (like t3report.com) , etc.... Choker was working on a plan to get the traffic guys together for contributions to FSC. This OneVoiceAdult.biz is initally focused at sponsor programs, who have an affiliate webmaster base that they can target to galvanize support. By having sponsors take the lead, they can help bring in the greater masses of affiliate webmasters to help. Fight the cat herding voices! |

Okay -- so it's dawning on some of you that our MESSAGE needs to be broader and more complex than the scope of the FSC agenda allows, and that the Mighty First Amendment Argument, itself, is only ONE aspect of what we need to tell people about our industry -- so, what else are we going to start saying about ourselves, then -- ?
There had better be a helluva lot more to it than... "I refuse to cooperate." Let's hear your ideas... 2HP |

As an industry for about a decade now, we have been getting off light in respect of legal action. Prior to that time there were "incidents", but now it's evident there are going to be lots more "incidents". There are a whole range of issues out there now - not just 2257 and xxx and a blatant need for some cohesion and representation. (It's actually a "war" going on and little to do with the purported reasons of CP blah.) FSC are active and instigating stuff, but suspect they need a lot more support to attack big guns. Fortunately, this is mainly confined to the US at this time, but, rest assured, - there are assholes the world over who will instigate some new ideas which will end up being problems - rationality is not their area of expertise. Ya got an uphill battle with this Mike - and it's not about a website design, more about pulling in others with strong cred in areas of civil rights, elements within the industry and lawyers - to wider fields such as those involved with payment systems blah where there are scenarios which could be attacked. |

But... give a politician the seed of some idea from the US and if there is a gain for him/her, rest assured that is the path to go. It has always been easy to complain about "porn" - we are sitting ducks. I can't see a politician standing up and defending the adult industry! :1orglaugh |
Great idea....have someone lead it ( like yourself ) and i will support it all the way!

internext hollywood/miami would be an excellent opportunity to have a some type of forum or discussion for those who are interested in making this come to fruition. |
Too many naysayers...

Everyone is open to join Free Speech Coalition. The purpose for the OneVoiceAdult.biz website is to target sponsor programs by giving them some quick info on what they can do to help support FSC. Targetting their affiliate webmasters is a great way to have more card carrying members in FSC, along with bring in additional $$ for the legal fight. I know Mike has spoken to a few programs and they are looking to add their names to the site as participating sponsors, and i have spoken to some as well.... already have 5 so far that are interested. waiting on working out the issues of being able to integrate with the FSC signup form (when it comes back online) and to jazz up the website design. the pre-buzz of the post was to get some designers to try their hand at logo and website design, in order to make the page look more attractive. If you are a sponsor program that is interested in participating in this effort to bring in more members to FSC, feel free to email me your logo at brandon - at - fightthepatent.com it will be a few days more to work out the technical kinks, but those sponsors who jump onboard early, will go up on the official launch of the site. this effort is truly a public service announcement to help get more people involved with FSC. Fight the Integration! |
I'd really love to see this develop, it's times like these that people with a common interest come together as individuals and finally overcome as a group! Let us know how we can help make this a reality.

My question: HOw are we, as a GROUP, going to get our thoughts, ideas, and opinions down to a single voice? There are as many voices here as there are thoughts and ideas, and with so many voices, how is one to be heard above the din?
This is a great idea, but how are we going to get our collective voices melded together, and still be positive that everyone is being heard? (Not trying to bash, just curious.) |
I am good at hearing alot of voices.
They are in my head. Always. |

D-Day: War's over, man. Wormer dropped the big one.
Bluto: Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no! Otter: Germans? Boon: Forget it, he's rolling. Bluto: And it ain't over now. 'Cause when the goin' gets tough... [thinks hard] Bluto: ...the tough get goin'! Who's with me? Let's go! [runs out, alone; then returns] Bluto: What the fuck happened to the Delta I used to know? Where's the spirit? Where's the guts, huh? "Ooh, we're afraid to go with you Bluto, we might get in trouble." Well just kiss my ass from now on! Not me! I'm not gonna take this. Wormer, he's a dead man! Marmalard, dead! Niedermeyer... Otter: Dead! Bluto's right. Psychotic, but absolutely right. We gotta take these bastards. Now we could do it with conventional weapons that could take years and cost millions of lives. No, I think we have to go all out. I think that this situation absolutely requires a really futile and stupid gesture be done on somebody's part. Bluto: We're just the guys to do it. D-Day: Let's do it. Bluto: LET'S DO IT! ---- LET'S DO IT!!! ADG Webmaster |
