Anyone own any ATM machines?
 

thinking of getting into the biz and was just wondering if anyone on gfy has owned any before.

I suggest reading up on it.. It's not as great and easy as people make it seem.

The one at the tube station about a mile from me has been stolen 3 times in the last year.

not many things in life are easy.

i dont expect this to be either.

In all honesty the company that runs the ATMs down the road from me have them in an area where banks wont put them. This is because the area is a high crime area. I swear now they usually end up getting stolen.

The only good way to do it would be to put them in bars and clubs. I suppose then you could probably make a bit of cash.

Not exactly, It's Risk Vs Reward.

Lets assume you make 1.50 per transaction, half of that goes to the place with the machine, leaving you with 75cents per transaction, and you still even have to give some of that up from what I remember, to whoever is processing your atm requests, leaving you with probably 40 cents..

You have to do all maintenance, you have the risk, the stocking it, the dealing of getting it into places etc etc.

In areas where there are no ATMs are more than likely hihg crime areas. Hence high risk of being broken into. These areas will probably not be good for processing alot of transaction. Hence low reward.

High risk of being broken into or stolen v low reward.

Had to peek inside here to make sure you were talking about cash machines and not Ass To Mouth (ATM) machines. I figured it might be some new fucking machine invention (Cybernet Entertainment in the City runs one of those sites).

a guy i know who owns a bar gets 25 cents/transaction on a 3 dollar take.

Or you could have someone sat in a chair where the ATM is who will spend $25 in a night on 50% profit giving the bar $12.50

I suppose if the bar is big enough then cool.

$1.50 is nothing. Some ATM in bars have a $5.00 transaction fee....

ya around heres its 2.50
and I know someone that has one in a bar, and he gets 89 cents from every transaction. makes a couple hundred a month, but his day job is with a bank as a service tech for their machines, lol

The scummy machines in StripClubs are Often 10% of what you take out, those guys are making some scrilla! :)

Last time i withdrew money at a strip club they charged me 20%. Always make damn sure to stop by an ATM beforehand now :1orglaugh

Yeah, strippers hate it when you give them coins too. Hard to keep them in their g-strings.
