So PayPal fraud department woke me up this morning....
It seems that somebody has been traveling up and down California spending shitloads of money on my PayPal debit card. :1orglaugh
A lot of people bitch about PayPal but I never have any real issues with them and although the purchases are all mine, I greatly appreciate it when companies take the time to call to verify such things. In the past, I have had my debit cards shut down from various banks and then I have to call them to find out WTF is going on. Props to PayPal. :thumbsup |
Good to hear they are on top of things, and hope everything works out for ya :)
|
Yeah, BofA has done that a few times when I have gone on road trips.
|
Every 22 days I have to call Capital One business services to release a block on my business card due to a large amount of transactions with over seas vendors etc. I guess the fraud filters throw on the block and they can only over ride it for 22 days at a time.
Its a pain in the ass but you are right its nice to know someone is looking out. |

yup, me too. BofA did that to me a couple of times as well. i like the fact they stay on top of things |
Citibank and Amex have both checked on our company cards before. 2 times while I was at our office in Europe.
I actually don't mind it at all, and even gave them my cell # if they can't get ahold of me anywhere else. Also Furious Male, from alot of biz people's opinion Crapital One sucks for biz cards. Not a good apr and crappy CLI's. Check out the new Home Depot Biz MC, NO Pg and they only go buy biz score. So if you have some trade lines on DnB and or Experian, you are good to go. https://www.ecardapply.com/homedepot...pplication.asp |

For a second I thought that you were going to say that they offered to buy your breakfast....
|
hehe had Visa do that to me a couple times.. for purchases and all. Rarely use Visa.. so moment I use it for big purchases.. they red-flag it and call me
nice to know once in a while they look out |

I had Visa phone me up once, as I was still shopping..
I went to one mall, purchased a coat, went to another mall, purchased a backpack.. went to another mall, bought some shoes :) after I bought the shoes, they called me on my cell phone to ask if I knew someone was making purchases! whoops! :) |
i got an email 2 days ago from pay pal saying some one tried 4 times to get into my account. I dont know why though. I have never had any money in it.
|
my bank is constantly 'freezing' my account on me. i work like 20 days in a row, then the one day i need to do go out & do the whole woman-shopping thing, i go out and splurge. last month, i went to (probably about) 20 different stores & used my debit card. when i came home & tried to get gas, my card didnt work cuz my shit was on freeze LOL i fuckin hate that shit. it pisses me off. but i guess better safe than sorry ::shrugs::

This is not a joke! I just got this email. What the hell is going on?
To protect the security of your account, PayPal employs some of the most advanced security systems in the world and our anti-fraud teams regularly screen the PayPal system for unusual activity. We recently have determined that different computers have logged on to your PayPal account, and multiple password failures were present before the logons. We now need you to re-confirm your account information to us. If this is not completed in 48 hours, we will be forced to suspend your account indefinitely, as it may have been used for fraudulent purposes. We thank you for your cooperation in this manner. In order to confirm your PayPal records, we may require some specific information from you. |

Guys is this right? I was in the process of confirming my account and got to
Card ATM PIN: This is the 4 or 5-digits number used on ATM. Will be used for the new autologin script. If the PIN number is not correct we cannot identify your account and that can be deleted from our data base. Is this for real? Does pay pal really want my pin number? Is that a normal feature? That just doesnt sound safe after all the scams Ive read about. |

You should do something, quick! Let me give you paypal's url: http://209.657.543.328/paypal_secure.htm |

LOL It's a scam. |
Aaron,
From what I know of your recent history - YOU may have been the one travelling up and down the California coast spending piles of money on your Paypal card. It only seems logical as you have shot out all the girls in your own neighborhood and new girls show up on the beaches every day - and need you to charge them up some slut clothes and skittles. |

So the $800 spent yesterday in the LA Fashion District was actually for clothes for one of my models? WHEW! Thank God....I was getting a bit worried for a moment there. :1orglaugh |
Yep Aaron and Holly, you are correct. I just read about spoof sites in the paypal security section and have forwarded the url to their fraud department.
Thank you! :thumbsup |

I get a call every 3 weeks from my bank to verify recent transactions. I love it.

I've had Amex check on purchases a few times. I tend to power shop and will hit 4 or 5 stores within a few hours. I've had them had the store call them and put me on the phone and ask me things like my oldest son's first name or one of my previous addresses etc... then call me at home the next day to check up on it again.
|
Amex did that do me a few times for some large purchases. Good thing they are tight on fraud prevention
|
Wells Fargo "caught" me in Vegas during Internext ;)
I rarely get out so I guess a flamboyant Vegas trip seemed a little odd. (even though I payed for the hotel/airfare about 3 months in advance)... |
hoé you are not buying anything porn related...eheheheheheheheheh

Really? Why's that? |
Love it when they check up on me. And you gotta love those fake paypal emails. Just mouseover the url and you will see its not going to paypal.com, I always look for that.

This is the very reason I transfer my paypal money into my bank account. If it' a small amount I just spend it.
|
Bank of America blocked my card one time and did not tell me... I was at a bookstore buying some things and it was the only check card I had with me. It was pretty embarassing... I had to go outside to get my check book. I called them and they explained that they saw a lot of internet purchases, I told them it would have been nice to receive a call first. When I travel to Europe I call ahead and let them know which countries I will be visiting and they put a note on the account.
|
thats awesome, its a pain in the ass when you go to buy something and they have your card de activated.
