Do not play the Sahara 7pm NL tourney, the structure is horrible. The play 11 handed all the way through so when you get short stacked, which is by level 4 for 90% of the people there is no wiggle room to make moves. The levels are like this: 1 25/25 2 25/50 3 50/100 4 100/200 5 200/400 6 400/800 instead of 300/600 and so on. first 2 levels we didn't even have complete orbits. Too many people at the tables taking their time. You start off with $2,000 so you can see by level 4 you're already at 10x's the big blind by level 5 you're short stacked. There is a rebuy after level 3 but it's only $1,500 more. so still once level 4 hits you're short. The midnight tourney at the Plaza is a bit better. Not as many people so it's just 10 per table also the structure I like a bit better. 1. 25/50 2. 50/100 3. 100/200 4. 100/200 $25 ante 5. 200/400 $25 ante 6. 300/600 $25 ante and so on. The Plaza I had A/K suited and the guy turned over Aces. Friend of mine did make the final table tho'. |
Oh yeah, and the $4/$8 at MGM. Fucking cluster fuck game full of "gamboolers."
2-3 locals, one loves the local Sunset Station game with is a game for fools..so I wasn't surprised to see him 3 bet people with 7/9 suited annd of course hit. During 1 hand he limped in with 6/9 and the button raised, it was called by big blind, he three bet once again. The flop comes K/J/9. *2 spades* He checks, the button bets, the big blind calls 6/9 check raises. Turn comes a queen spades. So now there's a possible flush out there. checked to button who bets, called all the way through. River is a blank. Big blind checks, 6/9 bets, button folds god knows what, big blind calls. 6/9 says out loud. "I knew my 9's were good." But the big blind turns over 9/7 LOL But before I left, guy playing 6/9 started off with less than a buy in, maybe $75 had about $400+ sitting in front of him. And not once did he turn over a "real" hand. |
