Dammit! What's a good Webcam camera?
Here's my test page:
http://www.gregboone.com/webcamtest2.html I've got a logitech quick cam and the first one I bought years ago the images were crystal clear. The new one makes the images look like shit. I'm thinking it's the software but two pieces of software I get the same crappy images. |
Crappy lens, crappy images.
Most small webcams have plastic lenses. |
Yeah, it's pissing me off cause my original quickcam from '97 worked awesome. Now the new laptops don't have the ports for it anymore.
I'll have to hook up my hand held instead. Gonna buy a new one next week. |

dang, I forgot about that. I've got them right here! I am wearing too many hats to focus anymore.

I use my video camera with a videocard .. the usb cams dont get the same clarity.
You can pick up cheap videocams now a days..why pay $99 for a logitech when you can get a vid cam for $200 or $250 |
yeah I also recommend a vid cam.

A video camera with a firewire connection is definetly going to give you the best results. If you still want to use a usb style webcam then the best one we've found (and we've looked at *a lot* of cams) is the Watchport V (it use to be the old 3com Home Connect) ... Toms Hardware has a good set of webcam reviews available.

do a video camera + firewire, in my experience, all webcams are shit
|
Sony has some camcorders with usb streaming, those work pretty good.
