GFY "Marketing" Techniques
 

to begin with, we will start off with the most basic of marketing techniques and then work up to more advanced.

1. See Sig / 50 *fill in the blanks*
Refresh the board every second of the day until you see a drama thread started.
Be sure to be one of the first 3 to post on that thread with these two words that will lead you straight to the bank.
"SEE SIG!"

Or

Locate all threads that are approaching the 50 post mark.
You should have 2 windows open. One window to refresh and watch the count, the 2nd with your post already entered so when you see the thread hit the 49 replies mark you just have to hit submit leaving behind your 50th post legacy.

2. Regardless of post add one of these keywords to your title.
[pic], [video], Drama!!!, Juicy *and oh please quit riding his cock - Mobbucks et.al*

3. Create potentially "controversial" threads.
Of course hot button topics include race, politics, religion.
Be sure to include any and all racial epitaphs that come to mind when posting race threads.

4. Fake Drama Threads
The old axiom "any publicity is good publicity" is alive and well on GFY.
In fact I have seen in the past notable marketing gurus actually create fake drama calling each other thieves and scoundrels just for fun and sig views.

What a great marketing technique. Not only will some of those who only view the thread once will go away thinking you or your fellow board whore is a cheat, but all will definitely go away thinking the both of you are idiots.

Yes I want to do business with you.

5. Multiple Board "Characters."

Have no life? Then this technique is definitely for you.

6. Misleading thread titles.
One of the top marketing techniques used on GFY, I'm assuming the ROI is so high because it is used so often.

Example Thread Title: "Hot teen lesbian scene [pic]"
You click on the thread and there is either a pic of ******* or goatse.

Yes it worked. Not only do you get to see the grime scraped from the bottom of the barrel of human kind but you also get to see a gaping asshole and/or a japanese woman defecating on herself.

Now to close the deal *mind you this next technique is the advanced version and only reserved for those with borderline personality disorder, or suffer the most serious forms of narcissism* You then call those who clicked on your thread...sheep!.

Yes, those you are trying to sucker into clicking on the link in your signature are not possible clients, or affiliates of those you represent, but mindless sheep. A group of people you have zero respect for.

Now the most horriible fact is, this seems to work, and those who use these techniques seem to benefit and are rewarded by their efforts.

What a great industry we are involved in.

I miss the old days when people actually took the type to write out what makes their program unique...there was a day when creativity and not sigwhoretivity rulled the land...bring those good days back..sigwhores push all the good threads downwards

the truth of the matter is,evn when people sign up for a program,I estimate less than 50 percent send joins.I would rather have a few dedicated affiliates who know how to sell than people who sign up for the latest and flashiest program.

The dumb asses have taken over.

LOL it's not even a rant.

It's satire...sad fact about humor is there is usually a twinge of anger and truth in it and I used those devices...I guess too effectively.

As soon as you write in the thread title something like "we now offer...", "cool new feature from..."
Even if you write "get 10% more money...".
Nobody clicks these kind of threads. That's sad.
I'm working in this biz since 5 years now and since 3 years I'm reading GFY... a lot has changed.
It has become very difficult for a program to offer something special and it's even more difficult to tell people about it. The reason is simple: Every week a new program launches. I had a TGP and received "new launch" emails all the time. After a while I didn't read them anymore.
Marketing has become entertainment. That's the way it is... (at the moment)

More and more every day people only interested in growing their business and not becoming Mr or Miss Popularity are spending more time on other webmaster message boards rather than GFY. This board is left for the jokers, drama queens, old-timers pining away for 1996, post-whores, surfers, and know-it-alls netting a whopping one signup per day yet professing infinite knowledge.

Oh well, no one is reading this post anyway, just like they didn't read the 28 above it. They read post #1, and then rush to the bottom to post their drivel because it's sooooo important and insightful that they don't need to read any other prior replies. :)
