Blogging Question.
During a discussion the other day I learned that you can edit your time stamp so that way you can have your blog update for you automatically.
However ever since I started doing this and having it auto update 2-3x's a day I'm not seeing the same traffic growth as I was when I just updated once a day. On this particular blog I'm using bv2evolution. When I save the post even if I write them back to back it goes ahead and tries to ping the services right then and since most will only allow you to ping every 30 minutes etc they will not list the new post. It seems as though I'm losing that ping traffic because when it "auto-updates" later it's not pinging again. Anyway to rectify this? Other than posting by hand? I've tried to see if I could save it as a draft etc but that doesn't seem to work. TIA. |
If I didn't make it clear what I would like to do is write up my posts in advance and when the software auto updates it at the time specified is ping the service then...not when I save it.

maybe it's just the blog script your using from what i read most of the scripts only ping the update services at the time of the post, so if it were a programmed article it should ping the update services at the time you had set the article to be posted...
script bug? |

Anyone knows if it does the same thing with Worpress?

haven't tried it, gonna have to look into that, i hope that it functions correctly as i have a bunch of articles programmed and don't feel like having to manually ping them when they get posted... |
wordpress allows you to post date posts, not sure about the pinging though

I use wordpress as well but haven't pre-loaded a whole lot of entries yet to really notice if it pings or not...I'll add some auto updates and see what happens

it does say this in wordpress When you publish a new post, WordPress automatically notifies the following site update services. For more about this, see Update Services on the Codex. Separate multiple service URIs with line breaks. thats right above the form where you enter the update services but i guess you don't know for sure whether or not it's definately pinging those services unless you check |
