pour a gallon or kerosene all over your car and light it with a BBQ lighter (for safety) :thumbsup

You could try pressure-washing them off....

my cars been sitting in the sun so the pinstripes are soft and its peeling off easily but SLOWLY and it leaves behind adhesive residue :/

i have some 'goo gone' type stuff to help remove the residue, hopefully it wont fuck up my paint. im going to put it on a rag and use it like that, not directly spray the shit on my car.

this is TEDIOUS

is there no faster way ?

at this rate its going to take like 9 hours

If the pinstripes are on a newer car, you can usually heat it up with a hair dryer and they pull off pretty easy in one piece (work slowly!). If the car is older it may be more difficult. After the pinstripes are off use 3M General Purpose Adhesive Cleaner to remove any sticky residue, it works great and WON'T damage the paint! :thumbsup

thanks for all the input

MattO 06-16-2005 04:43 PM

just add more pinstripes till the car is covered, then that's your color

Bird 06-16-2005 04:57 PM

goo gone, i used it to take off all my badges.

keyboard warrior 06-16-2005 05:01 PM

heat gun / lacquer thinner

pornguy 06-16-2005 05:03 PM

Hair dryer and a plastic spatula, then use the googone to get the glue off.

use a heat to peel back the remaining pin stripes and use vegetable oil to remove the sticky residue. the veggi oil is safe on the paint and washes off with no problems.

you can thank me later.

The Ghost 06-16-2005 07:15 PM

Just buy a new car. One without pin stripes.

jonesy 06-16-2005 07:21 PM

Bug gut remover might work safer.

thats what I was gonna recommend. use a hair dryer or something and heat it up, slowly peel off. then rubbing alcohol should get the sticky adhesive off. :thumbsup

me and girlfriend of mine just picked at a corner of the stripes and started peeling away. took like 30 mins.

nofx 06-16-2005 08:37 PM

thanx everyone

hairdryer + goo gone worked

gotta heat up the pinstripes and then slowly peel them off then use the goo gone and scrub hard to get the residue off.

it took me like 2 fucking hours!

it looks oh so much better now :upsidedow
