Who On GFY Has Seen Batman Begins Already?

If so, please post your thoughts on it.........judging by the tomato-meter, it and "Cinderella Man"(which I've personally seen and was brilliant) are the movies to see this year so far.........

http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/batman_begins/

They both score a 92% on the "people meter", or those that are not critics but have seen it and rated it......

candyflip 06-16-2005 07:36 AM

Greg B 06-16-2005 09:10 AM

Just got back from the movie.

I loved everything about the movie except the direction, the story and the editing and score.

That means the acting was spectacular as usual with such greats in the cast, the special effects were fucking outrageous, the bat toys kicked ass.

The actors really, really, really saved this movie with their charm and charisma. Other than that it had the dumbest plot twists and turns and progressions I've seen in years. The best action sequence didn't involve a man, it involved a car:

THE MOTHERFUCKING BATMOBILE!!!!

The Batmobile KICKS SHIT ASS TWICE REMOVED!!

Fuck Batman, go see the movie because of the car! One thing you can always say about a Batman movie, tv, comic book: The Batmobile has to rock ass!!!

The Batcave too has to kick shit.

Problem with the movie is it changed character's origins AGAIN which bites ass.

It's good Saturday afternoon fun stuff so you won't waste money I figure.

thediablo 06-16-2005 09:20 AM

the movie is great!

now they went for a more realistic shit!,

More Darker, More Gothic shit going on!.

Batman is back :D

(go see it cos the final shit of the movie will surprise ure ass)

That's odd. You seemed to like most parts of the movie, but didn't like the direction or editing...or even the story or score? lol. Hard to believe you enjoyed anything at all from it.

They're saying Christopher Nolan (director of the indie cult film "Memento") is the reason why it's so good. Because he took a chance and made something entirely new with the Batman franchise...and looks like from the reviews and some of the replies here...that he may have saved the franchise. Warner Bros. said that if this Batman movie failed, that would be it for the franchise. They invested 8 years in the making of this newest installment as it is.

Greg B 06-16-2005 10:01 AM

Now THAT'S the REAL "Batman"!!!

None of that wimpy psychological-look-into-his-persona gay bullshit, just profound spouting, cool gadget, babe magnet, two-fisted Dark Knight!

The original Batman in the original DC Comics was never campy. I think Batman was already 20 years old when the late 60s Batman TV show came out starring Adam West as Batman.

Aquarius 06-16-2005 07:22 PM

Bruce Wayne is Batman!

Bansheelinks 06-16-2005 10:18 PM

Well I have just joined the GFY club of those who have seen "Batman Begins"........and what a treat it is!

its the best comic book adaption ever done..........even better than Spidey 2!

Wow! I am still blown away by the depth of the character development and the imagery........

the bar has been raised once again.........how will Singer respond with his new Superman movie, will he even be able to raise it to this level?

if you choose not to go to this movie, too bad for you. You're missing out on a great movie. it made Revenge of the Sith look very trivial in comparison.

Bansheelinks 06-16-2005 10:40 PM

http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/batman_begins/

user rating, meaning ppl who have seen it and rate it, of a whopping 94% on the ole tomato-meter.........after seeing it tonite, i understand why that number is so high perfectly

Satisfaction 06-16-2005 11:01 PM

yeh im going to see it tonight

opflix 06-16-2005 11:15 PM

great movie... i personally liked how they took the origin in a different, more realistic direction. reeeeealy cool how they led into the first batman at the end. the car was definitely the shit... go see it even if u aren't a comic adaptation fan. very little time is spent w/"the costume" which made it all the more believable. :2 cents:

Sparks 06-16-2005 11:16 PM

I loved it. The special affects were awesome!!!

nosey 06-16-2005 11:16 PM

xclusive 06-16-2005 11:18 PM

I saw it and loved it I might even go back and see it monday.

tungsten 06-16-2005 11:20 PM

my friend saw it and said it was good

Jimmy Lifestyles 06-16-2005 11:38 PM

Story was very good. Started the saga right. But, the fight scenes were garbage. All close up and dark. Like heres how we'll do it, just fling a black sheet around and flail and add some punching sounds. And sounds were not that intense. but was good entertanment nontheless

yea, like that picture's not gay :1orglaugh

Go read the original comics - this is supposedly most true to the real batman - that TV show was a POS.

yeah, the fight scenes were sorta irritating.... is that the new thing now in movies? i mean, you can't even make out who is getting hit :eek7

Yeah Honestly, i dont know why some movie makers think this looks good or cool. Seems like a simple thing to be conscience of.

Bansheelinks 06-17-2005 04:00 AM

that too would be my only complaint of the movie.........many ppl said the same thing about Revenge of the Sith, that in a lot of the space fighting scenes, they couldn't tell who was blasting who....

but as far as "Batman Begins", with how great a film it actually is, its a tiny criticism for such a terrific movie. the damn thing was so interesting and compelling, the pacing was just right, the acting ensemble was brilliant to say the least.........Christopher Nolan is going to have a ton of Hollywood producers at his feet now, begging him to do pictures with them.

but, hey, we want a sequel!

i noticed that too... all the ultra close up BS where all you see is arms flying back and forth across the screen without really seeing whats happening. there was a lot of that in the last star wars movie too.

i thought the latest batman movie was good though. i just wish they would choreograph better fight scenes and actually train people to make them look real... rather than continually try to fake them.

a1ka1ine 06-18-2005 06:29 PM

awesome movie, yes the fight scenes were very closeup with no real sense of who is hitting who, but i think thats supposed to reflect the erratic and shifting nature of the bat :)

its a shame that the start of the movie was not executed a little better, the fight scenes were certainly not that impressive considering the number of styles of martial arts that were supposed to be employed

good movie though, the best batman movie thats for sure.

zentz 06-18-2005 07:08 PM

i did.. its the best one together with the 1st one

MrPinks 06-18-2005 07:15 PM

I loved it! Fantastic superhero movie but I have to agree with Greg B on one thing. The score. It could have been better at certain points of the movie. I love movies where the score alone can raise the hairs on your arms. For example, Halloween. Other than that, Batman Begins is probably the best movie I have seen and wasn't let down.

PersianKitty 06-18-2005 07:17 PM

Caught the midnight showing the night it came out. Thought it was better than any of the others. Christian Bale would of made a great superman though. He looks alot like a young Christopher Reeve.

KCat 06-18-2005 07:42 PM

Loved it! My favorite Batman movie by far.
