The fish is from a trip we took to Lake Kabinakagami up in Canada, just north of Michigan (the up). It was a fly-in trip, and the lake is 30 miles across at it's longest width; awesome fishing for northern and walleye. My dad took this picture, not sure of the exact size of the big one but it looks pretty big to me.

Apologize for not posting this earlier, didn't think this thread would be this popular! Cool to see there are other fishermen here!

Who knows, maybe Internext one of these years can be at a fly-in resort?

Probably local dialect. Rest of the world calls them pike. Gotta use a wire leader regardless and they're awful to eat.

That looks like a Muskie (The Holy Grail of freshwater Sport fishing) that is eating the Pike.

Taste good, but have too many bones. Big ones are a bit woody, but you can make damn fine 'meatballs' out of minced pike. :)

"Pickeral" and Pike are two different species. They look somewhat alike.
