new Eclipse gt or 2 year old Inifinty G35coupe?

which makes more sense? Both look great, used versus new but used having more features......

galleryseek 06-15-2005 09:56 AM

its a bitchin site too cept for a few 404s

EroticySteve 06-15-2005 10:02 AM

I'd go for the used car. Let someone else take the hit on depreciation. No need to waste $$$$$$ on new when a slightly used car will do.

You'll be the envy of every 16 year old boy with the Elcipse.

Go for the Infinity or it's cousin the 350z.

fuelcell 06-15-2005 10:03 AM

The new Eclipse looks nice enough but WHY? Fuck, I wouldn't touch anything from Mitsubishi.

simple simon 06-15-2005 10:05 AM

eclipse? :1orglaugh

tranza 06-15-2005 10:05 AM

How many miles on the 2yo G35 coupe?

Sosa 06-15-2005 10:05 AM

Infinity

cspdinc 06-15-2005 10:06 AM

g35 has 27k red, spoiler, moon -everything.

wedouglas 06-15-2005 10:07 AM

I haven't seen much about the Eclipse, but I have always like th G35. What is the price for each? Similar?

cspdinc 06-15-2005 10:08 AM

yeah I remember older mitsu engines lasting maybe a year under heavy use... but I am having a middle age crisis.... :)

cspdinc 06-15-2005 10:08 AM

priced just a tad higher for the g35 22k for gt mitz, 25k for g35, at least here it is.. Im sure theres always a "better deal" somewhere

wedouglas 06-15-2005 10:11 AM

how used is the g35?

cspdinc 06-15-2005 10:16 AM

its a 2003. spotless, leather, twin shift.. I just did some researching on it and its a good deal..... I thought it was a bit high but its right on. maybe even a tad low.

eamedia 06-15-2005 10:18 AM

both are nice cars.....does the infinity come with a warranty? if so Id go with it...

tedwinters 06-15-2005 10:22 AM

Infinity is a rock solid car.. built terrifically, and definately preforming better..
The eclipse is a poorly built car... junky performance... but it looks neat...

Infinity all the way..

wedouglas 06-15-2005 10:29 AM

ehh, infinity is quality. id go with that

abadfish 06-15-2005 10:38 AM

I can't believe you are even debating this! The G for sure. Is it a coupe and is it laser red?

Downtime 06-15-2005 10:50 AM

go with the infiniti

Vitasoy 06-15-2005 10:54 AM

Yea go with the G35 man :)

Don/Atlas 06-15-2005 11:02 AM

I;d go with the G35 for sure. I just traded mine in for a QX56. Its was a really nice car. I just needed something bigger. (2 kids).

Thurbs 06-15-2005 11:20 AM

the g35 fo sho.

liquidmoe 06-15-2005 11:25 AM

I like the redesign of the new eclipse, goes back to the previous look a model before which I liked alot. Wasnt a fan of the 2000 version too much. Overall the infiniti has the mitsu beat on quality in all aspects, but get the g35 checked out a shop, make sure it wasnt involved in any major accidents, check the wheel alignment, paint job for any indications of accidents etc. Although its a better car you should always be careful when buying used because you will be buying someone else's headaches.

I had a CPO 2000 328Ci before my 2005 M3 and I gotta say after everything I went through with that car I dont care where I get a used car from I will never again get one before having it checked out by one of my own trusted mechanics. Specifically one who does collision work since they can tell much better when a car has been reworked.

My car had frame damage and all kinds of goodies, I was glad to get rid of it, although I loved it, just had a lot of headaches with it, especially near the end. Still was a great first car though.

kristin 06-15-2005 11:38 AM

Eclipses and Mitsu in general tend to fall apart faster than most cars. They have stupid problems with them, AC goes out, things tinker around and make noises. They are nice cars and fun ... but they do come with their share of problems and fast too.

Go with the G35, it's already depreciated, the Eclipse is brand new give them a couple years to work out the bugs.

Mako 06-15-2005 01:01 PM

Those two cars are not even in the same class. You might as well compare a Hyundai Tiburon to an SL500. I know you're lumping them together based on price, but that's not a valid means to measure them against each other.

I bought a g/f a G35 Coupe the first week they were released, it now has 60k miles on it and has been flawless. Very nice luxury/sports car, especially with some of the options like sat-nav, etc. Highly recommend it. The new Eclipse is a joke, I'd buy that for my 16-year old kid if I had one...

DH's recommendation the M45 is also correct, good one. Wow GFY is actually getting a few people that have a clue regarding cars, versus the hundreds of asinine comments I've seen here in these threads over the past few years that are dead wrong usually. Nice.

sickkittens 06-15-2005 01:06 PM

Neither. But if I had to chose for you...Infinity.

taibo 06-15-2005 01:07 PM

damn id usually woulda chose the g35 but when i visited the site for the new eclipse i couldnt stop checking out the pics... shit looks clean!

Bugbee 06-15-2005 01:10 PM
