Swedish ISPīs goes to war against childporn! But some innocent get caught on the way.

BREDBANDS BOLAGET A swedish ISP are now fighting against childporn on the internet.

To bad they are blocking peoples sites without notice the sites owner and tell them. I see alot of "innocent" teen sites will go down the drain on this one.

All the surfer see when he visit some different teen sites are this img.

http://www.fuckingnoob.com/police.jpg

It goes something like this.

Your web browser have tried to contact a webpage that are distributing childporn material and that is illegal according to 16Kap10a.

If you have objections about the webpage beeing blocked you may contact RikskriminalPolisens squad team against Sexuall abuse against childs.

For more information visit www.polisen.se

And then its information how to let the police know about child abuses.

I got contacted by a long time friend who run a teen tgp and he got contacted by a guy who recived this.

BREDBANDSBOLAGET are one of Swedens biggest ISP at the moment.

Sucks uhh?

Rings a bell. I guess this is what you get when you post content too close to the grey zone... :(

DamageX 06-15-2005 06:00 AM

BTW, did you try that URL yourself too?

CumSensei 06-15-2005 06:03 AM

Yes I tried it. Worked fine for me.
But I got glocalnet so I guess itīs just Bredbands bolaget who do this.
I can see telia follow maby. Been a hunt on teen sites for a while now.

I told the guy to contact them and explain about his site. I mean itīs all freehosted shit.

Thumbs aren't freehosted.

CumSensei 06-15-2005 06:08 AM

This seems like another case of good intentions gone horribly wrong.

Not anyone who has the knowledge of using a proxyserver is a webmaster.

Yeah sure, but that wasnt my point

chupachups 06-15-2005 08:43 AM

Btw, even some processors are being blocked by this service. In this case though, I wouldnt be surprised if the processor in question, had something to do with the "real thing".

If you look at it from an outside point of view, I think some webmasters has put this on themself. They are just pushing the boundaries.
Sure we know about 2257, above 18 and what not. But if you look at some thumbs or how they are depicted, they sure as hell look below 18. Or large sites that contain the word lolita, young or 17 (just some examples I found when I went to a large site from a GFY member). That's what a regular surfer or a company putting up filters sees. So I think it's all good. Those webmasters are just pushing it too far.

This is true.
But I wonder what makes them shut down the site. I mean is is enough that someone mail them and tell them? And who make the dessisions?

They didn't shut down the site, they don't have jurisdiction over that server. They did block it from being viewed by their subscribers, in co-operation with the police.

Before you posted this thread, I had sent that exact picture to someone I know. I know the guy is honest, but by staying to close to the grey are, he sure as hell brought this onto himself. While I'm uncertain about whether several ISP's (Swedish and others) will follow the lead and do the same thing, the fact still remains that by catering to the wrong market the strategy bit him in the ass.

My guess is that they both review sites that gets reported and automatically filter on certain phrases.

Actually, I heard it was done manually only. Think about it, how many sites would be blocked otherwise?

That's why I think some "innocent" sites are blocked. But I haven't seen the "innocent" sites, so I don't know if they are so innocent. So you might be right :)

swedguy 06-15-2005 10:09 AM

http://www.idg.se/ArticlePages/20050...nolimit =true

They get the sites to block from the police. So it is a manual block.

tranza 06-15-2005 10:15 AM

That's fucked up...

Yeah I know, youīre right but; if an email is all it takes, I am afraid there are going to be alot of innocent sites blocked, especially with the ongoing CP mass hysteria in mind. Lets hope thats not the case...

edit: just saw your second post Swedguy, thats good! :)

Vagisil 06-15-2005 10:27 AM

;-)

Mr.Fiction 06-15-2005 10:27 AM

Some people don't care about free speech. If it offends them, they don't want anyone to be able to see it, even if it's legal.

Dumb fucks.

Theres a ton of people making girls look younger and younger, putting braces on them, making sure they dont have breats. We all know who they are appealing to. Then everyone wonders why webmasters get clamped down on :2 cents:
