grr..i've been summons for jury duty
 

i have to be at the court house on 3 different mornings, all at 8am :disgust

anyone else serve as juror? please tell me its not boring, im afraid im gonna doze off in the middle of the hearing LOL :Oh crap

I got summoned too. Fuckin bastards this is my third time! I have to figure out how to get off this list.

Easy, when they interview you say you hate all people.

Blacks are always guilty no matter what because a black guy once robbed you.

Mexicans took your job, they too are always guilty.

I think people who say this works are full of shit. I'd like to see someone get in front of a judge and say this stuff, I bet you would end up in jail.

I just got my 3rd summons letter. I kept throwing them away but this time they are mad. If i dont show the letter states they will fine me $1500.00


Jury duty sucks, I told them I was an ex-cop but they didnt care, said i still have to go.

they sent me & the boyfriend forms to fill out to be a juror and we HAD to fill them out & send them in by a certain date...4 weeks later, and i have a summons on my desk. i get bored really easily & i have the attention span of a fly so im not gonna be a good juror. LOL

I have been on the lists for 25 years and never picked to be on a jury. Only been called twice - once 18+ years ago when I had just come home from 2 weeks in the hospital and had a broken leg and the other time I was called from a county I'd moved from 2 years prior. I'm never going to get a chance to send someone to the gas chamber :(

the easiest way to get around it is to write them a letter (phone call usually won't work) and tell them you own your own business (if you don't own a business, don't do it), and request to be excused.

if you read the thing carefully it says that if you are a business owner or if your business could fail without your presence, you can be excused by writing a letter and requesting to be excused. they'll send you a new summons a few months later but you just do the same thing.

well, if you own a TGP and don't update it for a day or whatever your business can sustain heavy losses (maybe?). i've used this every time and it works like a charm, though i really do own a small businesss and i am busy as fuck.

well, my only source of income is on the net, so anytime im not working, im losing money. not sure if they would consider what i do a "business" (since im not LLC or Inc) but according to my taxes, im self employed so doesnt that count as having & running my own business??

Either way, im gonna try to get out of it.

Jury Duty is a blast! Something exciting always happens. When I was in a year ago, an old guy a few rows ahead of me fell of his chair and died. Paramedics were there in 2 or so minutes and zapped him back right here in the holding room. That was a trip to court I will never forget!

Just tell the people during jury selection that you can spot a guilty person a mile away by just looking at their face. You'll be excused very quickly :)

You're doing this all wrong. Stop trying to get out of jury duty.

Tell them you would be perfect for a jury, because you are an excellent judge of character. You practically have the ability to find guilty people from the look in their eyes :winkwink:

Have you done this before? if so can you provide details please? I read about something similiar on another site, sounds reasonable enough to be worth a try. I mean all they can say is no. :pimp

It's covered every other week on this forum. Look at some of the same excuses used by others. Now you can include you love MJ as your excuses.
