...."Jaws" is one of those rare movies that, despite the advent and strength of home DVD viewing, if digitally remade, especially the shark sequences, and re-released wide in theaters, it would be a hit all over again, imo.

Call me dumb and old, but IMO it may be one of the best movies ever, period.

I'll abosolutely will be getting this DVD this week, along with the Casino anniversary edition - looking forward to it

Jaws is an excellent movie. It's classic story telling, great dialouge and it single-handedly scared a nation out of swimming in the ocean the year it came out - that's power.

With Jaws, the timing of it was everything. Back in the 70's movies were just starting to use some rather fancy special effects and were willing to invest huge dollars in such technology. Not to mention that it played upon everyone's natural fear of sharks and being eaten by one. Up until that movie most people had never seen a shark bight a person in half. It was phenomenal really, the level of horror that movie generated.

Young people today are used to big-budget movies with even more modern and elaborate effects, so many of them simply won't "get it" about a movie like Jaws. Too bad, movies like that don't come along every day, or every decade for that matter.

The Exorcist one is worth it just to hear the bunny version of Tubular Bells.

The scene where he slid into Jaws mouth was killer. It's all about chemistry and those three guys had that in spades.

saw it in best buy for 15.99 ... good deal :thumbsup

I got it already.........am looking forward to the 2 hour making of they have on it..........seeing some of the deleted scenes was really cool, like an extended version of Brody and the college kid finding Chrissie Watkins body on the beach...........well worth it
