Sharing through p2p but not getting downloads
Im sharing files through Limewire and Warez (the program).
Limewire does nothing. Nobody downloads anything. Warez gives me a few downloads but nearly what i should be getting. Im running this on windows boxes. Any idea what could be wrong? Could certain ports be blocked or something? I should get 1000's of downloads. |
you suck, its pretty obvious n00b :thumbsup

Jesus, this will be bumped off the page in 2 mins with this idiotic MJ crap going on.
Get over it kids. Or find a teenybopper forum. |
The universe is trying to tell you something...

Anybody know if managed.com filters p2p ports?
This is the reply i got when asked if they did: We may filter some of those ports because p2p is mainly used for warez, however I'm not sure. That could explain everything. |
If anyone wants to give this traffic source a try, I have software for sale to get you going, icq: 33375924 if you are interested.

Yes yes, i got it..noob, newb, whatever. Im exactly 1 day into this, give me a fucking break. |
Also the few downloads i get, 90% of them get cancelled because the speed is almost 0 kb/s.
|
I'd sure like to know the answer to this as well.
Thought I would try uploading some sample files off my home pc one day...could hardly get anyone to download from me and those that did ended up getting cancelled. I tried XP Pro SP2, XP Pro no SP, Win98 without luck. Also used limewire, edonkey, kazaa, etc. I tried with a router as well as no router. It was just a test so never really followed through on this, but would also like to know why this didn't work. |

When I entered this thread, I thought it might also be a lack of attractive naming, but if you're getting the hits and they fail, then its likely an issue with connectivity not traffic. First, look at your firewall. It may be blocking the ports that you're trying to use to share. If changing firewall policy still doesn't fix it, then try changing the port that the program listens on (most P2P progs allow user customized ports). If that still doesn't work, chances are that your ISP is shaping traffic based on protocol. In that case, you'll have to give them a call or open a ticket. |

well i dont use it to spam i use it for personal use and all i know is this, i wrote it down what i had to do.
Im sorry for the non dutchies, but i wrote it for myself (half english/half dutch) and im not gonna translate the whle fucking thing. Here it is: Bittorrent & andere programma?s (zoals E-Donkey etc) port forwarding voor optimaal gebruik. Eerst je Inside (personal) IP adres vinden: 1) Q: I have 1 question where can I find my private port? A: Depends on what OS you're using. Windows uses either of the following: Win9x/ME: click start, then run, type in winipcfg, press <enter>. The IP address listed is the private ip. Win2000/XP: click start, run, type in cmd, press <enter>, in the black box, type ipconfig, press <enter>. KLAAR |
I've tried this traffic source before and it sucked big time to me....

Hey thanks, gonna check this first thing in the morning, im drunk and im gonna sleep now. But after quickly browsing through it i think this is just for home usage and not for servers. I mean i have no access to routers and shit as far as i know. But i will check it out and see if it helps me. Thanks. |
