I coughed up blood

Last night I woke up with a horrible itching in my esophagus. It was bad enough to wake me from a deep sleep, so I went to the bathroom to gargle. It was fucking unbearable.

I started to cough to get whatever the fuck was causing it out of my breather tube, when suddenly I tasted blood.

I spit into the sink, and there it was, a big glob of bloody lung-butter.

I haven't smoked in a while, and have been running daily, so I'm healthy, but I don't know what the fuck it was. The itching stopped, and my lungs aren't full of blood today, so it didn't kill me.

I would have gone to the doctor, but it was the middle of the night and I didn't want to wake the wife.

Has anyone else coughed up blood from the lungs before?

Usually if you cough up blood it means you're going to die soon. Sorry.

never coughed it up before, threw up blood a few times not a fun experience...
u should see a doctor especially since u used to smoke, could just be your lungs still clearing out from the smoking but why risk it

I better get a life insurance policy pretty quick then.

I think I'm okay though, my theory is that I inhaled a bug or something, then I coughed so hard to get it out of my esophagus, I ruptured some capillaries.

sniperwolf 06-13-2005 04:55 PM

have you been to a radiologist.. you should have your lungs exposed.
Goodluck man!

machinegunkelly 06-13-2005 04:57 PM

its normal when you quit smoking to cough up some blood if you were a heavy smoker.. just your system cleaning itself out as it was unable to do before .. shows how much damage smoking can do ....

Go see a doctor though just to be sure .

Chichio 06-13-2005 05:20 PM

Didn't you sustain some significant damage to your body bouncing off some rocks while base-jumping? If so, that could be the problem.

kaylacruz 06-13-2005 05:36 PM

Hmm could be anything.. TB can get you in the lungs too.. but not to fear may just be the smog in the air too.. are you built from all this running? I want hot pics! hehe

wacko jacko complience, good call!
