Forgive the newb-ness, but I am wondering the best "free" way to get traffic to my blog site. Are there any lists of adult blogs that I can visit to request hardlinks, etc? All comments and bitching welcome.

Make it about content that gets spidered by the SE's...and not some TGP disguised as a blog.

I'm not getting much traffic to mine yet, but the traffic I am getting is good and the click thrus are pretty amazing.

yes, not a tgp in disguise with a ton of links, and thumbs all over, mine are 99.9% text and daily updates are 100 words minimum, I do 10-20 entries at a time so I dont have to babysit it daily, I check it weekly, it auto updates 2-3 times a day

How are you auto-updating it (if you don't mind me asking) and what blog setup do you use? I am currently using wordpress

the auto update I was oblivious too also at first, lol make your post, make sure you have advanced options on, then edit the timestamp and set the time for when you want it to publish, real easy :thumbsup

make sure you site is worth the bookmark, then buy plugs from the bigger aldult blogs...

so when i put my blog in here and select all the sites on "Services to Ping", will those sites show my blog and when (and with what post) its updated?

true. Make your blog an actual blog that has new content and information daily. As it grows you will be able to branch out more.

Those services will list that your blog has been updated and will show them in links...you will see traffic almost immediatley but remember your blog falls off the list at some point so you must ping them every time you update it.

Hey Eros, how much traffic do they send from the list when you update?

so they dont use the rss feed, so that it automatically goes up again in their list of blogs once i updated my blog with a new post? u have to ping it manually every time u update it, so in my case i have to ping it every 1 to 2 days (everytime i make a new post) ?

It's not a ton but every little bit helps. I've only been doing this for a very short time and am seeing growth almost daily.

What does help is that I'm getting picked up in SE's much quicker specifically yahoo and get listed in like the top 10 of whatever term they spidered..and if it's a new hot topic to see results the very next day is just amazing.

Well in your blog software you can usually ad services to ping.
If you haven't done that you can use pingomatic.

In wordpress it's under options / writing at the very bottom.

You'll already see a site that gets pinged there you can add more.

Do you just put all of these urls in your to ping list ("Update Services") in WP?
