Video Game: Spider-Man 2 for Playstation 2
 

I hesitated to get this game for some dumb-ass reason but just got it and brother is it AWESOME!

Sure you get to fight Doc Ock like in the movie but you also have Mysterio and Rhino too!

Yeah there's a story yadda yadda yadda and all but that's not what makes this game.

What fucking ROCKS about this game is:

There's a full, workable New York City Island of Manhattan enviornment!!!

Yes! You can literally spend countless hours just swinging from one building to another all the fuck over the island of Manhattan! Lots of REAL landmarks and street details! I went visiting my OWN apartment that's in NY and the building is IN the game! Same with offices, friend's places etc.! Not only that but you can spend countless hours responding to cries for help and beating the dog shit out of street thugs! I mean you can beat them til you run out of energy! I took a guy and literally kicked his ass non stop across the entire island of Manhattan! It took me 3 hours but it was FUN!

You can also piggy back ride on cabs and cars etc. and they drive just like regular traffic. You can hop on a car, leave for work and come back and Spidey is still riding!

I hope they make it for the PC so's I can mod the fuck out of it.

Excellent excellent game! I had trouble beating Doc Oc but managed in the end then spent a few weeks laying wast to random criminals.

I got that game.. still haven't unwrapped it. WOrking on Silent Hill 4 at the moment.

I love this game cause it ain't easy! I thought it was going to be easy but fuck no! The challenges where you have to speed swing at targets, the pizza delivery challenge, meeting MJ for lunch challenge! You can't run out of shit to do in this game! It's never the same either.

The option that you can just say fuck it and beat the shit out of random criminals all over the city in new and unique ways is a game unto itself!

I like how you can be like 5 stories up on a building and snag a fucker from the ground and beat his ass til he limps.

Some of the landscape is wrong and made up but I can see why to make the challenges harder but that's okay.

Nothin' like climbing the Empire State Building and jumping off and at the last second snagging a buidling with a web line and swinging to safety. That shit is the fucking joint!

I did that a few times infront of my 42" screen and every time felt my stomach rise into my mouth! I must be slightly acrophobic because I'd be whizzing through the air with one eye closed at times!

I played the shit outta Spidey 2 for XBox. I'll agree with pretty much everything in this thread, it's a kick ass game.

Dude, you are going to LOVE this game. Even if you don't play the entire story you can play like 20% and buy all the signifigant powers and just run around the city fucking criminals up til you can't stand it anymore.

Yo! Was it different on Xbox? I have yet to read across platform comparisons but I know Xbox wouldn't settle for second best at all.

I'm not all the way throught the game yet. I'm on the UFOs over the Statue of Liberty challenge. Having to swing from each of them UFOs to get to Liberty Island was a fucking trip!

I listened to someone who said to ride on a helicopter. I snagged a chopper and that fucker dragged me all over NY. It went everywhere EXCEPT Liberty Island.

It's exactly the same for XBox. They made a PC version that was different I think. You can ride the helicopter to Liberty Island, if you stand on top of the tallest building closest to Liberty Island you can see the pattern that the helicopter flight is and then swing onto it and get it from there.

After I beat the game I spent at least 3 hours trying to stand on the very top of the arm of the statue of liberty, couldn't get it done though.

btw I now officially hate Mysterio. I remember as a kid in the 60's thinking he was cool but every video game he appears in he has these traps that are just impossible to beat almost. Of all Spidey's villains I hate him the most.

The PC game info I posted above. Disappointing from what I've read already but there is the opportunity to mod the game I suspect. Although modifying to increase the environment like adding Brooklyn or New Jersey would be a nightmare. I can't believe how much detail they got in the environments ( except they left out the street names. if they had the accurate street names you could write this game off as a business/travel tool as it is the best way to visit manhattan virtually ).

I'm not sure you can get to Liberty Island during the UFO challenge. I didn't try it then.

Mysterio is lame as hell. Running in a close second and my vote for the most homosexual character Spiderman has faced is Kraven the Hunter. This guy does everything short of spiking Spiderman's drinks in order to get him unconscious and rape him.

The only annoying part of the game is how long it takes to beat up the thugs. If I remember correctly, Spiderman is supposed to be 40x stronger than the average man, yet he has to punch a guy 74 times before he'll be knocked out.

Resident Evil 4 is my fave game !!

Oh heck no! Spidey is far, far more powerful than 47x a man's strength! You're talking about a teenager who knocked out the Hulk with one punch! On the Marvel power scale he's just one shy of Hulk and Submariner class strength and he's only a teenager!

Yes you can get to Liberty island by swinging. It's easy. What's tough is blowin up the orbs and landing on top of the statue.

mmm...quite good..but im more more on action like splinter cell, nfsu2, tekken 4...spiderman bores me sometimes so i didnt fancy it much...

The one you are playing/played is a much better game.

Spiderman:The Movie was just a reworking of the original PS1 game for the PS2 brought out to correspond with the first flick.

Okay I'm done playing this game! Did it with NO cheats on and only ONE tip that wasn't that big a deal.

Just leaping from a 100 story skyscraper and at the last minute spinning a web to snag onto a building or light post is nothing short of exhilirating!

This game lived up to the hype and far more!

It had the original cast doing voices and Spidey cracks more jokes all over the place like the comic. Really really Spidey 100%

I had almost given up on Superhero shit cause it's so stupid but Spidey is something different and like the Sam Raimi movies it captures it all.

It pulls no punches on the challenges and each step of the way you learn your powers and abilities and you had better because the final battle with Doc Ock calls on all your skills up to that point!

Just when you think the game is over after the final battle, guess what? MORE SHIT TO DO!!!

I'm fucking done! I needed a game like this to break the monotony of sitting at the puter all day and night. This is just what the doctor ordered!

Oh, I can't wait to play this on the new PS3 coming out in a few months. The processing power it boasts must make game playing like un-fucking-real!
