[LEGAL] Joint-Ownership of Domain?
 

I own a website and just sold 1/2 of the ownership to a friend of mine.

I added his name to the registrar, but he is wanting some sort of "joint-ownership" contract that says: I, John West, am entitled to a) 30% revenue of ___ site and b) 50% sales in the event the domain is sold.

As a designer/admin, I am also wanting to state that a) I will retain all intelectual propery, such as: logos, business trademarks and b) 100% control of the business itself.

I know this forum is primarily focused on TGPs and flaming, but if anyone could point me in the right direction of how to get this paperwork started, or to some other forum, it would be very much appreciated.

Have a lawyer write a contract stating terms. Both sign it in the presence of witnesses and both get copies.

He's a friend, he's not going to flat out burn me. But if i can get my hands on a generic contract, I can modify it and just take it to a notary, yes?

There's a website for everything- there's gotta be one for this stuff.

Oh and he's on the other side of the country, so I don't know how the witness thing is going to work out.
