I just found out that Gandolf and Magneto is gay.

My girlfriend just told me that Sir Ian McKellen who plays Gandolf in the L.O.T.R. trilogy and Magneto in X-men is a flaming homo. :Oh crap

I have no problem with gays but those are just two really manly roles and my view of Gandolf the Grey is now Gandolf the Pink.

The Truth Hurts 06-11-2005 08:20 AM

it's called acting..

makes you wonder where he sticks his staff at night

Tala 06-11-2005 02:04 PM

Who cares? Why should anyone's sexuality affect their acting ability? Sir Ian is an incredible actor and was perfect for both of those roles.

Now, his boyfirend...

He's an awesome actor!!!
He has been open about his sexuality for several years now.

AlienQ - BANNED FOR LIFE 06-11-2005 02:27 PM

Check out Of Gods and Monsters.
Its an incredible movie and Ian is one of my favorite actors.

pradaboy 06-11-2005 02:27 PM

hmmm I didn't know that either... doesn't change anything about his acting skills though.

hova 06-11-2005 02:29 PM

old news, but I don't care

xclusive 06-11-2005 02:34 PM

http://www.mckellen.com/ is his official site and his body of work is quite impressive

FilthyRob 06-11-2005 02:36 PM

He is a very talented actor and can fuck whom ever he choses.

Rob 06-11-2005 02:42 PM

I find it neat that he has been Knighted in the UK hence the "Sir" before his name. That is a HUGE honor to bestow on a person. Along with Elton John, they are the very first two Queens to ever be Knighted. :winkwink: :1orglaugh

I have nothing against him being gay, it just threw me for a loop. I think he's an amazing actor; gay or straight.

yeah he is..........he's one of the best actors alive actually.......

the english always have some of the best actors living........whether at one time Laurence Olivier, John Gielguld, Alec Guiness and now Ian McKellen. His performance as Gandalf is already legendary, and he is great as "Magneto".

:thumbsup

SykkBoy 06-11-2005 05:31 PM

it certainly explains his laughing during the big ticklefight in Frodo's bed at the end of "Return Of The King"

I always thought his most underrated role was in "Apt Pupil" damn good movie and performance that seems to get overlooked...

tony286 06-11-2005 06:31 PM

THats very old news but who cares he is still a great actor

sickkittens 06-11-2005 06:31 PM

It took you all this time to figure that out? :(

Makes ya wonder what he forced Frodo to do to him.

You know, you guys gotta really stop feeling threatened by these Gay people.
They aren't interested in you....
And yes, Sir Ian McKellen is quite openly Gay.
Here is an official BIO page for Him:

http://www.theonering.net/movie/cast/mckellen.html

I think you would likely be surprised by the number of Gay actors in Hollywood.
Separate the Actor from the Character.

Gandalf the Grey, or White, is NOT gay.

I must admit though, it did annoy me that they made such an issue about it.
And it affects my enjoyment of the movies....
I don't care what they do in the privacy of their own homes, I just don't know why they feel they need to tell me about it.
I'd rather they didn't.
I don't run around proclaiming to the world that I'm heterosexual and and the greatest lover in the world, now do I?

:Graucho :thumbsup :banana

doesn't affect my enjoyment of those movies; the LOTR is still the best :thumbsup

and the xmen series completely rocks.........i'm just disappointed that Bryan Singer can't direct the 3rd one

aico 06-12-2005 01:33 AM

The majority of Male actors are gay...

John Travolta.. gay.
Tom Cruise.. gay.

Do you remember many of the straight guys in High School taking Drama Class???
