xxxregistry.org?? thoughts comments?

anyone register thru them?

thoughts comments? anything better out there to get secure your names thru?

SmokeyTheBear 06-10-2005 11:30 AM

Its not real yet..

Basically all they do is plan on having lots of connections to whatever place registers them. ( the same as anyone with access to multiple connections has ) or any domains reseller, they aren't an accredited registrar.

The same basic thing new.net has except new.net is trying to convince people that icm will honor the already registered names ( even though they conflict with xxxregistry.org versions ) ( i.e. 2 people own the same domain )

unfortunately, the only way to secure your .xxx names at this time is probably by bribing someone at ICANN.

Also if they are not Icann certified or approved I forgot which one they wont be selling it. Thats according to the CEO ICM

hmm ill have to dig/make up some friends AT ICANN THEN =)

Nobody knows wtf they are talking about. Like Smokey said, they have systems in place to do bulk registries as soon as they extension is live. They charge you a fee for each one they grab most likely, I haven't paid attention. Similar have been done on every new domain extension, nothing new. If you are really after certain names you might have better results using any of these services that are available.

scam.....

Its the most obvious scam I have ever seen.....

It scares me that people have to ask..... You wont get a domain and I doubt you will see any money back either.

My hackles rise when I see that ad.
