My new philosophy on content providers
 

I don't know about the rest of you, but I spend ALOT of money on content.

I'm not trying to act like I'm a big player or anything, but I know that the amount of $$ I spend on content is far from a pittance.

In the past few weeks we've been going over all of our 2257 documents, and there are lots of mistakes, and some missing files.
A missing ID here, an undated release there.....and it's not just from one provider, almost all of them have had something that we needed to fix.

I'd just like to say that the amount of cooperation I've received from you in the past week trying to fix the mistakes in our paperwork is directly proportional to the amount of $$ I'm going to pay you to shoot content for me in the future.

Some providers have bent over backwards to help me, and some won't return my calls, emails, or ICQ messages.

I don't know what some of you are thinking. Webmasters are going to spend ALOT more $$ on content in the coming months than they've probably spent in the past year and a half.
We have to replace the stuff that we don't have/can't get documentation for.

Who do you think we're going to buy it from? The guy who won't return our calls? The guy who spent 20 minutes arguing with me today over whether or not I actually needed the piece of paper I was asking for? In the time you spent arguing with me you could have faxed or emailed me the document 20 times and been done with me, and been in my good graces concerning future purchases.

You should think twice about your business the next time you decide to ignore "another annoying 2257 request"....your livelihood depends on it.

I agree. What surprises me though is several who I figured would be a hassle were right on it and a few I figured would be right on it where the hassles.

What's the most funny is those people spamming shit now that won't release docs for past purchases. Like "We are fully compliant, by this shit!!!" blah blah blah. Been waiting for docs for months and nothing, not even now. I will no longer buy content from people who do not provide proof up front.

That is one reason to buy from someone who sends you the correct things up front.

Yeah, but like I said, everyone has had one or two little mistakes....its human nature.
Plus we weren't paying attention to it the way we should have been.....so it's everyone's fault.

But you think you would take care of your customers when they're facing jail time for non compliance....if we all go to jail who's going to buy your content?
