If you walked out early, you missed the best part. The ending is actually the entire heart of the movie. I loved it.

Yeah someone told me that too, so I rented it on video and watched again. I fealt like punching myself to death halfway through, but I stuck it out. By the end, I knew I had wasted nearly 2 hours I'd never get back again. Damn shame.

it was the triumph of a geek who got beat up and made fun of all the time at school..........and the best part of it was it came out of nowhere......no real set up or phony foreshadowing.........just bam.........there it was

and if you left, its too bad........you missed the picture he drew of a chick he was trying to date, and every fucking time i see it, i howl with laughter at that scene.......its classic

I liked it but it's still over hyped in my opinion

i waited LONG after the hype died down so i could watch and wouldnt automatically hate it from everonye saying "FUNNEIST MOVIE EVER!" and stuff

I loved that movie so much.. it reminded me of being in junior high school. :)

About once every decade one of these movies comes along that a generation identifies themselves with. It'll live on for many years just like Animal House and Pee Wee did.

if he only got 1,000 it would have been worth it. he got his career boost from the movie.

he's already doing other films, although I am sure he will be typecast now

This was seriously the absolute worst movie ...like EVER. I mean....it was just one of those where after watching i thought to myself...how could anyone ever REMOTELY like this...

I thought the dance was entertaining but too long...and the only other good part was the talking with hot babes on the internet part....

Top 5 Comedy's in my opinion...

in no particular order:

1) Dumb and Dumber
2) Animal House
3) American Pie
4) Happy Gilmore
5) Dragnet

...and yet, I feel "how could anyone remotely hate this movie?"

and those top5 are pretty close to my top 5 (except Dragnet) with Napoleon Dynamite and Shaun Of The Dead on the list

My five favorite movies? I never really thought about it, but off the top of my head and in no particular order:

Aliens, Fight Club, Repo Man, Drugstore Cowboy and Requiem for a Dream.

I think a lot of people like it because it finds humor in the minutia of everyday life of average people. Perhaps a refreshing change from the over the top unrealistic hollywood stuff we're all used to seeing?

For what its worth i though UHF was a pretty funny comedy as well....a lot of those movies "at that time", were just like NP....bunch of unknowns or in Jim Carrey's case, "a fluke" to the average joe making a comedy that was sure to flop.

WTF is so funny about this movie. Its full of dead air and awkward conversation. It hurts to watch
