Tech Problem - new install & can't use F keys
 

Re-installing XP on my #2 computer, ...i've got them all connected thru a kvm switch & for some reason when i get to the "press f8 to agree" with the microsoft liscense, its not recognizing me pressing the F8 key.

It recognizes ESC & enter etc., so its def detecting the keyboard. And i've tried the numlock etc.

Any suggestions on how to hit F8 without actually hitting it? lol

is it a wireless keyboard? try using a keyboard plugged directly to the machine

no its not wireless....but yea, i will try it direct with the keyboard, its just a pain in the ass, i've got computers stacked & wires running all over, its not easy to get to

theres an F-Lock button on the keyboard, did you miss that?

thera are meny problems with the emulation with kvm swithches.. when you make the install, have the keyboard directly in the computer, and move it to the kvm switch when done. But some kvm switches are better than other - our black box is great, but to damm expensive

There is a narcotics anonymous meeting in your area, did you try them first?
