i heard somewhere that even if he is convicted he wont be with the regular prison population because he is somehow an honory member of the police department or something along those lines.

Think about this for a second. If he is convicted he will do more time then 50% of those who committed murder. On the flip side, pedophilia is a disease you cant get rid of, so why not lock him up forever? Or put his as to death so we (taxpayers) don't have to pay for him rotting in prison.
