Star Wars III, Revenge of the Sith

Although I'm a fan of the Star Wars story and actually liked the two prequels, I've gotta say this one really disappointed me... While the two previous ones did have quite an amount of "news" in them, sporting decent story lines, this one was pretty predictible from start to end. Also the end, in particular, seemed weak to me. I'd say the worst of the Star Wars movies and if it hadn't been a "link" in the story, I wouldn't have minded if it hadn't been made at all.

I haven't seen this one yet. I was actually disappointed with the 1st two. Maybe this one won't seem as bad for me then.

redguy 06-09-2005 06:01 AM

predictable? you mean you guessed Anakin would become Darth Vader? :1orglaugh I actually quite enjoyed it - thought it beat the pants of episodes 1&2...to each his own I guess :)

SomeCreep 06-09-2005 06:03 AM

I thought Revenge of the sith rocked out with its cock out.

I won't go into details, since it seems that some still haven't seen it yet and I don't wanna spoil it altogether. But aside from Anakin Skywalker becoming Darth Vader, the whole plot, pretty much every scene, seemed very predictible to me.

ADL_JD 06-09-2005 06:08 AM

I thought this was the best of the SW!

Jensen 06-09-2005 06:11 AM

didn't like it myself.. 1 and 2 was a lot better..

Gawdy 06-09-2005 06:12 AM

I thought all 3 were crap, especially that thing with big ears in the first one

pradaboy 06-09-2005 06:16 AM

IMO this is one of the best SW movies... I really enjoyed it from the start till the end.

DamageX 06-09-2005 06:31 AM

So many different replies... Thank God for variation among tastes. :)

So your saying Episode II was better than Sith?

Was less bad. Definitely not as predictible.

candyflip 06-09-2005 06:44 AM

I loved all three movies.

The XBox game for this movie sucked. That I recommend staying away from.

Juggernaut 06-09-2005 06:46 AM

The movie had to be tied up in a matter of 2 hours. You have to remember that when watching the movie.

I disliked everything from when Anakin became Lord Vader. The scream at the end was what ruined the movie for me.

I will buy the 6 pack when it comes out, for the sake of owning it.

If you say so. Starting to wonder if you watched the same movie everybody else has.

Of course, I can't be as intelligent as you are and appreciate such a masterpiece. :)

Make allowance for differences, my friend.

EviLGuY 06-09-2005 07:01 AM

I thought it was decent.. worth my 7.50 cdn. They could have cut out all the romance bs though.

Haven't said anything about a materpiece. All I know is Episode II to alot of people is considered the blacksheep of Star Wars.

Cassie 06-09-2005 07:24 AM

the acting was horrible. the only thing that kept me awake was the action.

I think Phantom Menace was even worse, AOTC was much better than PM... and ROTS was much better.

Oncle_Benny 06-09-2005 09:34 AM

it had to be the link to the 2nd and 4th, so yeah you can say its predictable... but I think this one is great. This one isn't for little kids, maybe not enough story, and to much "vwiing vwooo" <-(light saber sounds)... :2 cents:

Downtime 06-09-2005 09:55 AM

Wow, interesting take on it. I really hated the first two prequels, thought they were way too cheezy; from the acting, to the characters, to the special effects. I loved Revenge of the Sith; might be the best one out IMO. The whole storyline of Anakin's struggle between the two sides was very cool, reminded me of the KOTOR series on Xbox. Hell, those stories might be the better than the movies.

StuartD 06-09-2005 10:00 AM

I think you all put way to much thought into it and went in with your expectations way to high.
Hell, these are modern movies made to compare with 1970's movies.

It's like the discussion between a cd and a record. The record has more cracks and pops, sound isn't as crisp but some just hate the sound of a cd in comparison.

These movies were great, all of them.... all 6.

A movie that breaks box office records does not "suck"... perhaps it's not in your tastes but it's obviously well liked by more than a dozen people.

They're all great movies and tell an amazing story. I enjoyed them all and felt like I was in a different universe while watching them. Perhaps if I got analytical about them and watched them as a back seat couch watcher than I too could have found reasons to hate them, but I didn't. I just watched them as a person wanting to watch a movie for the sheer sake of enjoying a fictional tale on a big screen.

SetTheWorldonFire 06-09-2005 10:10 AM

I can see why some would not like this one but I really liked this one.

NTSS 06-09-2005 10:10 AM

Haven't seen it yet

ADL Colin 06-09-2005 10:11 AM

This one was my favorite. "Empire" moves to second.

juve20 06-09-2005 10:17 AM

I only ever liked the first two starwars!

tony

flirty 06-09-2005 10:19 AM

i was satisfied with Episode 3... it wasn't so bad... :)

xlogger 06-09-2005 10:35 AM

The dude that played Anakin Skywalker cannot act! That was sad. But the girl, she was good!! I watched the movie twice.

Manowar 06-09-2005 10:42 AM
