Where to find Actors/Actresses in Florida for a Mainstream film?

A friend of mine who is also in Florida asked me to post this on the board, in case someone knows.

He is shooting a independent low budget (read: NO budget) film and wants to find Actors/Actresses in the Florida area for this film.

I know there is probably thousands of Actors in Florida, but he does not know where to look, and has no money basically since his entire budget is going towards renting the equipment.

Any ideas on where to find them, preferably on the internet and preferably with no money?

What is out there besides CraigsList?

I will forward him this thread. Thanks for the input.

Go to some local universities and ask the drama department for some advanced students... i'm sure it'd be VERY cheap

Thats good advice, I will pass it along, Thank you.

What else can he do?

I wish I could help him, but this is not my area of expertise :(

I have nothing to do with movies, but maybe area collages would have drama students willing to work for free for the sake of experience and receiving a copy of the final film.

Florida Blue Sheet. But most of the actors tend to be in the Central Florida area around Orlando, but that could work if that's where he's shooting.

There's a Film Program and the University of Central Florida. (Orlando)

They might be able to provide the list of available talant that the students use.

Vic, thank you for the info. Actually, he is in Orlando :)

Florida Blue Sheet, is this it? floridabluesheet.tripod.com

It's hosted on tripod, are they a proffesional operation?

It's a magazine, right? He subscribes to it, or can he buy a copy now from somewhere else?

One way he can lower equipment costs is by donating a small sum to a University's film program and they will often allow him access to some of their equipment (especially editing bays and camea equipment). He might also be able to find actors as well as crew and get them for nothing or next to nothing.

# Talent: Extras. Pay unknown. SAG possibly. To shoot in LA & Bahamas. Pirates of the Caribbean need extras. No audition dates available. Looking for a variety of types, i.e. very skinny, bald, missing teeth, eyes, legs, arms. Portly, character features, bumbling idiots, etc. :1orglaugh
