Obscenity Prosecution Task Force - this is already a reality

CHATSWORTH, Calif. - The U.S. Department of Justice has created an "Obscenity Prosecution Task Force." Attorney General Alberto Gonzales has spoken several times in the last month about his "commitment" to fight obscenity. The new 2257 regs have been published, and are due to go into effect on June 23. Legal briefs have now been filed in the appeal of the dismissal of the charges against Extreme Associates, meaning that a hearing is likely to occur sometime this summer. At least two states are considering or have passed repressive anti-adult legislation. Meanwhile, producers' and distributors' sales staffs are taking orders from retailers, warehouse personnel are filling them, and retailers are stocking product

We can fill their investigation queue with the thousands of surfer "porn collection" sites and forums with ripped content. Let them hassle them for a while.

Why go for the small fish ... They will hit the top of the porn chain !

i don't think the injunction will make much difference, cause from I have been reading all day they are filing a lawsuit on behalf of the fsc and it's named members...so the law is still going through regardless if want it or not...and I have a feeling that June 23rd will unleash that task force out of the gate and we will start seeing prosecutions...

i have also chatted with my lawyer, and he thinks the prosecutions will start immediately, they are ready and waiting...and I am sure they are researching big time right now, finding the perfect unsuspecting targets to make examples out of

because the small fish are easy and don't have the money to fight

if you were going to make an example out of someone, would you wanna pick the guy that can hold you up in court for years with a legal battle, or the guy that doesn't have the money and will take a plea?

best idea i've heard all month. also, i predict that 2257 will do nothing more than scare th pants off of adult companies and force them into the closest thing to compliance as possible without chasing all the tax money offshore. as long as the bussssssshhhhy administration can show the bible thumpers that he is doing something about porn, the world of adult isnt going to stop turning. 500 dollar hammers and 30 million dollar aircraft require lots of tax dollars. they need every tax dollar they can get now. three things that will never die or be stopped for eternity is war, the sex trade, and drugs, including alcohol. :2 cents:

oh, and rockstar djs like jacexxx :winkwink:

I say if it wil be out of the gate it will be june 24th not the 23rd.

i just don't see where the money is going to come from. what are they going to do, cut education some more? you can only rob peter to pay paul so much. just a small handful of prosecutions could cost them millions and millions of dollars to not even guarantee convictions under these twisted and gray regs. should be interesting to watch it play out. i am glad i have 0 published images on the web and basically a spectator with a decent amount of knowledge on this (thanks videopass), and an honest neutral opinion. well, almost neutral, i am biased in the adult market's favor.

The money is pretty transparent. Everyone the DOJ uses and most of the prosecuters and such get paid every day no matter if they are trying our asses or not. As for the task forces, they were already funded awhile ago and like most special committes and such need to justify their exsistance to recieve additional or ongoing funding.

the bulk of money will not come from taxpayers.

this is carefully planned.

the bulk of money will come from RICO and asset forfeiture.

something to remember when you kids post the pix of your cars and boats.

if you handle teen niche or extreme and your 2257 is not perfect you will be first on the list IMO.

You realize the DOJ hired the guy who did obscenity charges back in the 80's under Reagan whe the DOJ actually did but porn operators. Go watch the PBS special on porn from 2-3 years ago. This guy is a repressed porn hating motherfucker. Obviously he has some skeletons in his closet. Most likely a whole fricken cemetary.

Not easier to prosecute, just easier to locate and serve you.
