Do You Attend Internext Seminars?
I haven't been to a internext in quite some time, and i think the seminars used to be optional? Now they aren't
So do you attend? btw, i just registered see you all there :thumbsup on a side note, hopefully this is the first summer internext thread of the year... im trying to start early :winkwink: |
Depends on who is speaking and the topic . . . or if JFK wants me to get pictures of it because he is doing something else.

waste of money.

Waste of money. Only go if you're a real newbie.

I'm happy to go when I'm an invited speaker, as was the case in January. I think that when the right people are on the panels it can be a good use of time.

I wouldn't want to be a speaker.

Depending on what information you're after, they can be useful.
The WAY they're useful imo, isn't necessarily the seminar itself though. Too much general information and product spamming. Listen to the speakers answer questions and separate the intelligent ones, from the ones that are there to solely spam their products. Approach them AFTER the seminar with your questions of interest. Most of them will be willing to answer some questions at that point. OR, get their card and ask if you can call them after the show. If you're down for some good standup comedy, I highly suggest any legal seminar. They're always good for a laugh. Find one where J.D. is headlining though. He's hilarious. |

We found the seminar in Montreal to be highly profitable for us :)

The seminars are certainly still optional. We couldn't afford security to drag people screaming into a seminar hall against their will. LOL..
I've found the seminar program patchy in the past. But that made sense... some topics that would not appeal to me might appeal to others. I agree they've been a bit repetitive in the past though... I mean, how many times can you really bear to watch 'AlyFromPython' repeating herself?! The problem with industry seminar programs is that there's a bit of a limit to what we're all interested in talking/ hearing about. You generally have to cover traffic, content, legal and so on, in some way or another. There's also a limited number of intelligent, articulate, knowledgable people who are willing to get up and speak infront of crowds of people. For this summer's program, I've worked with a team of people from various aspects of the industry and we've made a great effort to make the seminars and discussions as far from same-old-same-old as we can. We're just wrapping up speakers and I'll be releasing the final program soon... So stay tuned. :thumbsup |
I like them when I am not too hung over.
