Which one is best?

Don't be swayed by the glitzier production values and SFX of ST-TNG -- look at the acting (no contest, shatner and nimoy could carry the cast of baywatch), look at the writing, the sheer intellectual bravura of the story concepts, measured against a 1966 back-drop -- TNG has just absorbed all the cynicism and polish of late 20th century sci-fi and "networking" paradigms, not to mention inherited the full legacy of the first series -- it's not so hard to be v2.0 when the software already has millions of users. Don't get me wrong, I like the show, but there's no way TNG is a greater achievement than ST66! -- :2 cents:

You're comparing TV shows with a movie for starters. I'd say the Star Wars movies outstrip the Star Trek movies by a small margin.

If you'd have compared all the space TV shows, your list should have looked something like this....

As I said, it's not really the way to go in comparing TV shows to movies. If the list were only about movies, then let's say it looked like this....

Star Wars (6 movies)(so far)
Star Trek (all of them)
Lost in Space (the movie)
Starship Troopers
Alien (4 movies)



I think I would have a hard time choosing a favorite. Star Wars seems like the more popular choice but the Trekki movies have a lot of sentimental appeal and the Alien/Aliens movies (at least the first 3) are excellent too.

star wars is best for storyline, Star Trek has alot out, i;d go with Star Wars, quality over quantity.
