What do you do about Forum's posting your stolen content

What do you do about Forum's posting your stolen content - all those surfer forums posting your content without the licens? what do you do about it?

would you hire a surfer to report them all, or what? Every time a close one down, 2 new pops up?

Send an email to their moms who surely will dissaprove and unplug them from the interweb, they may even not get dinner.

What do i think about few people on a forum posting some pics? Could care less.

What do you think about 10,000's of people swaping FULL porn movies on p2p. I care. But can we do anything about it? No.

Im not talking about hotlinking, Im talking about Members ripping off whole membersectionm and posting it on forums. Forums with 100k daily users. Whole picture-sets from lightspeed and adult.com..

Which place is this, but more specifically, where is it hosted? From experience, some of these places hosted in sweden and elsewhere in europe/russia are virtually bulletproof, and its not even worth pursuing on grounds of futility.

If its in the US/Canada/UK, then you've got a good chance at getting the upstream provider to pull the server.

Pete-KT 06-07-2005 06:52 PM

thats why u should watermark your pics

Machete_ 06-07-2005 07:04 PM

they dont care if its watermarked, but watermarking may get you some hits from people wanting more ;-)

I close a lot of websites for my customers, but i really want to get the surfers(poster) to pay, or at least charged so they think twice about doing it again

kernelpanic 06-07-2005 07:09 PM

I think the first thing to do would be file a formal DMCA notice if the site is hosted in the US.

dopeman 06-07-2005 07:10 PM

ask them for their 2257 documentation

LOL, sounds like a good idea.

Stamp all your pics/movies with your URL, might get you some "free" traffic :)
