In my logs today I was notified of hack attempts from:"66.28.203.220" --> "ptv.com.pk".

Most likely its just a box thats been hacked and is now scanning other boxes.
My Question: For those of you that have had similar problems, does it ever do any good to try and contact anyone at their company... or should I just forget about it?

yes - you have to.. It will get them cut off the net, and that makes sure that ass dont succed in his plans... stopping one in an million, is better than nothing

You should do a geoip ban on shit countries like that. It's not like they are ever going to buy a damn thing anyway.
