Lensman - XXXRegistry Advertising?
 

Lensman, from your post you seem to support it; do you have something to gain from .xxx existing? Otherwise most people have the feeling it will be negative, so not sure why you'd want to promote it on GFY, other than a new advertiser trying to make money.

I don't like the .XXX idea - from my point of view the best strategy against it should be to introduce similar domains like .PORN, .SEX etc. (using the 'protect the kids' argument).

He already made a post on the subject kissass

It appears .xxx is coming if you like it or not, so I suggest if you are going to be a part of it start making your plans.

I asked the same question is his thread and several other threads.. Because he is obviously taking a side supporting .xxx extension and the fact .xxx domains are being sold from gfy through a registrar that isn't accredited for selling them. I think its only fair to know if he has made any deals to secure any .xxx domains ( i.e. gfy.xxx , adult.xxx )

This is not going to do one thing for "protecting kids". That is a huge red herring that has been debunked time and time again.

This is about making big time green off all of you adult dotcommers unless we trade news of the .XXX biz truth and see it for nothing more than the land grab by a bunch of robber barons that it really is.

everyone talks like its bad but there are so many greedy people trying to get prior deals which in the end will cost the rest of us double the amount of $ and make a few webmasters very very rich.

all the posts about how ".com owners should also get the .xxx" shows that some under the table deals have already been made.

it is propostorous to think that, it has never been done that way, with .co.uk with .ws, with .cc NEVER, it makes you wonder what kind of thoughts people have thinking that.

allowing .com owners to get the .xxx it one of THE dumbest ideas i have ever heard on GFY. just because you own a .com doesnt mean you have presidence on any future extensions.

and allowing those with .com names to snatch their .xxx extentions opens the floodgates to massive registers by a few individuals before the extension has even dropped.

alot of people talk about how they care so much and do not want the .xxx extension yet i am fairly possitive many of those who are respected as industry leaders are already arranging deals to maximize profit off the rest of us (ie stab us in the back) before the extension is even dropped.

just talking about how the .com owners have first dibs alreays shows this. its a bunch of webmasters from 97 who have seen their market share decrease since the flood of webmasters and will do anything to sustain it.

xxxregistry.org is a Paid advertiser. Just because they are a paying advertiser doesn't show our support or non-support.

They are people trying to run a business and realize that advertising on GFY is a great way to get in front of webmasters.

Hmm so if i start up a company to pre-register .xxx domains that i have no valid claim over and charge $80 for them , as long as i pay you guys money you will let me advertise ??

Nothing has been said as far as who has claim to any of the domains. The only thing that has been stated so far is speculation.

yeah i read that part . basically in a nutshell they are saying they have people with computers to signup once the signup starts..
