Ok I just have to ask you people this...

When you make a "Cool looking" heavy loading graphical gallery who do you make it for?

I found out a simple text link without ANY "cool" looking graphics are way better converting then a one that contains all those "coolT effects.

So who do you build it for?

The webmaster who think his site need that shit or for the surfer?

They make it for the people that get an erection from a fancy design.

I'm using next to no graphics on my galleries, only pure sales text and text links, and it works rather well for me, and the SE traffic is a nice side effect :thumbsup

Exactely, get in the webmaster, tell him the galleries are oversaturated and advice him to build his own for maximum profits (and yours ofcourse) ;)))

same here, I do use maybe 1 banner too, but I doubt that can be rated as fancy graphics :winkwink:

My galleries look good, load good, and convert good. You guys do it your way, I'll do it my way! We'll both make money!

FACT: Unless you're paying for the submission, the TGP/MGP owner is gonna list the best looking galleries, since those keep bookmarkers returning.

It's all a traffic game. If you can get fresh traffic sources and know how to keep that traffic, then you can make your own rules. Otherwise, you need to find a way from keeping your traffic from bookmarking your trades instead of you.

So its the style of the galleries...so grapichal galleries always keep more surfers coming back?

So a clean text link gallery would not? Lots of fancy flashing banners and buttons and shit brings back more bookmarks?

How do you guys determine what type of galleries (clean or graphic) generates more? Do you just have a feeling or do you use accurate tracking and compare your galleries eCPMs?

I did the latter and clean galleries without graphics have MUCH higher eCPMs (...)

Interesting question...lets see some of the idiots answer it.

When it comes to free submissions or free partner account listings, the site owner will list the fanciest galleries. It's simple, if it looks good, people will remember it, and they'll also remember where they found it, thus having a reason to return there.

This is a debate I had starting four years ago and on. You're fighting windmills. If you want to cash in on better advertising methods, you'd first have to start building your own traffic and make your own rules. No one's gonna start bending theirs just to make it easier for you to sell.

Well mostly when I did both styles. (in a year back or so)
I used the "campaign" option some sponsors have.

And I must say the cleaner text link galleries got much more clicks then the graphical ones.

I think this is mainly because a normal text link still trigger the "click finger" with surfers. In oposit of a image text that dont look like a clickable link most times.

You know, you can pity site owners all you want, but they've got the traffic and if you're nice and don't make comments like that towards them, they might just list your galleries. If they don't, then all you're left with is pity and all they're left with is traffic, how does that work out for your bank account?

Hey CumSensei I make them sometimes just for fun and also just to test and also just to impress the stupid and sometimes just to check Im still on top of the game. But hey you know Im still here and making gallerires before half these guys left high school. Why do you think those that know ask me how to make galleries.

And ofcourse I have my own network of traffic...not many people make a living of just submit galleries.

I just like to make my galleries artistically different, pleasing to the eye, yet still fairly clean, organized and fast-loading.

But definitely artistically different is key :D

FACT: surfers couldn't give a rats ass about how a gallery looks. They care about the content. I have friends that are surfers. Trust me, they really really don't give a fuck about the "look" of a gallery. If I ask them how a gallery "looks" they think I'm talking about the pics. The only people that notice design are A) webmasters B) homos.

Now I'm sure some smartass will say "But better looking galleries get more hits to the sponsors." Well maybe, maybe not. That's not the question here today. The question is when it comes to a surfer being able to jack-off to a gallery does design matter? The answer is no. In fact if your gallery takes to long to load he leave and go to another.

A good % of porn surfers still are on dial-up. I'm on 3Mbps cable which typically runs at 2.7 Mbps and some of these galleries take a few seconds to load for me. I can imagine how long that would take using dial-up.
