Why make your bed?

OK I can see if you have a chick coming over that has never been there and you want to look all tidy n shit... cool make the bed... pick up clothes, etc.... but every day or if you have a steady chick.... why....??????

I think the bed is more comfy when it's kinda messy and you just climb back in.... broken in n shit from the night before...

azguy 06-06-2005 08:30 PM

I stopped asking my gf why and now just smile while we make the bed every morning.

sickkittens 06-06-2005 08:31 PM

You answered your own question when you typed "I think". :2 cents:

Whoever was the last one sleeping in the bed.. I get up before my wife except on weekends.. so she is usually the one who makes the bed...

It looks nicer when the bed is made, in case I have company over... Or some unexpected guest...

JJ Gold 06-06-2005 08:33 PM

My bed is always made. I sleep on the couch or the floor. Sometimes I sleep in my car. I don't like to get to comfortable in my surroundings. You have to stay hungry.

Tylo 06-06-2005 08:33 PM

Oh dear God are you a newlywed too?

Paraskass 06-06-2005 08:47 PM

making the bed is bad, healthwise.

air and sunlight will kill most of the shit that lives in your bed....
so not making it is actually better. It lets sunlight and air in, and moisture out.

AGREE 100%

phogirl69 06-06-2005 08:56 PM

Me and my bf never make the bed, ever. There really is no point, plus we are both lazy and don't give a flying fuck.

I am so using this...

phogirl69 06-06-2005 09:00 PM

I actually prefer the house a bit messy and the bed unmade. I find people who are "too clean" are usually obsessive compulsive and really anal.

nofx 06-06-2005 09:05 PM

I love sleeping, its the best thing in the world but i dont get enough of it.

Kenny B! 06-06-2005 09:07 PM

My bed is made very morning, I take pride in my decor and spent enough on nice furniture I want my place to look nice. Besides it takes 2 minutes, I?m not that lazy!

SomeCreep 06-06-2005 09:09 PM

I make my bed every night before I go to bed because that is the way I was raised, plus it only takes about 2 minutes.

I have the issue with my current GF and i asked her the exact question:

she didnt really have an answer.. its the typical 'just because' thing.

Sheep behaviour.

Its a useless activity to fill the day.

Ycaza 06-06-2005 09:19 PM

just can't see the need honestly, but i like gettin in a made bed i just don't like doin it

I only talked about the bedroom.. lol, That still leaves the living room, garage, home office and kitchen that I do not even touch?

Do I get to join the club?

Quickdraw 06-06-2005 09:23 PM

A properly made bed will keep you from sliding under the sheets with spiders or other fun things.

Good grief... changing the sheets occasionally accomplishes the same thing. :upsidedow

reynold 06-07-2005 12:36 AM

Not really particiular with how my bed looks...

ADL Colin 06-07-2005 12:45 AM

Some of you are slobs ;-)

Pretty_Lara 06-07-2005 12:53 AM

right, don't be slobs. it takes not too much time (30 sec), but a g/f is happy and your bed looks tidy

Violetta 06-07-2005 04:26 AM

It makes it look better!

TurboAngel 06-07-2005 04:36 AM

I grew up making the bed right away so once I got out out the house that stoped! I do make the bed on Sunday's that's sheet changing day. If people come over I shut the door.

:winkwink:

Nightwind 06-07-2005 04:50 AM

I don't make it and i never will, unless i become pussy whipped. :Oh crap

bringer 06-07-2005 05:14 AM

Adultlegal 06-07-2005 06:19 AM

Untidy beds may keep us healthy
House dust mites are linked to asthma
Failing to make your bed in the morning may actually help keep you healthy, scientists believe.
Research suggests that while an unmade bed may look scruffy it is also unappealing to house dust mites thought to cause asthma and other allergies.

A Kingston University study discovered the bugs cannot survive in the warm, dry conditions found in an unmade bed.

The average bed could be home to up to 1.5 million house dust mites.

The bugs, which are less than a millimetre long, feed on scales of human skin and produce allergens which are easily inhaled during sleep.

The warm, damp conditions created in an occupied bed are ideal for the creatures, but they are less likely to thrive when moisture is in shorter supply...

tony286 06-07-2005 08:03 AM

I like a clean orderly bedroom , you make the bed and already you started off the day doing something.

flirty 06-07-2005 08:03 AM

you dont wanna mess up your clean clothes with all the dirt you may "produce" while... :pimp

i make my bed before sleeping...is that weird? :1orglaugh

GatorB 06-07-2005 08:08 AM

Why wipe your ass? I mean you are just going to shit again sometime.

mindoza 06-07-2005 08:08 AM

I love a made bed but I tend to not have extra time in the morning so I have a bad habbit of sleeping on top of my made bed with my favorite old blanket..That way in the morning I just have to fluff and straightend.

I make it once a week when I change my sheets!

LittleSassy 06-07-2005 08:14 AM

why do i have to make my bed? i like them messy but clean for all i care. im much comfortable with that. why make it nice and neat when you're gonna ruin it anyway.:)

Shoehorn! 06-07-2005 08:27 AM

People still make their beds? I thought people only did that when they were driving across the Oregon Trail 200 years ago.

Shoehorn! 06-07-2005 08:27 AM

Another page of bed making fun.
