    My new laptop w/ pics...

    Some of you may remember me bitching about how I killed 2 laptops in a week and swearing that I wouldn't get another Dell. Well a $750 off coupon changed my mind.
    Behold, my new Dell Inspiron 9300:





    17" widescreen WUXGA
    256 MB video card
    1GB RAM
    80GB HD
    DVD Burner
    Keyboard
    Um, advanced 2 mode operation, on AND off.
    I'm pretty sure it weighs like 45 LBS. I haven't weighed it yet, but I was able to lift if over my head three times before passing out. All in all it's pretty neat. I thought the dvd controls on the front would get in my way, but so far I haven't even noticed them. I wish they had utilized the space better on the case design, they probably could have squeezed a number pad on there somewhere, but it's fine as is. I got it with the extra long lasting battery, because I'd like to be able to watch a whole movie on a flight before it dies. I haven't tested it yet, but I bet it would be close. That HUGE screen uses a lot of juice.

                      The new Inspiron machines are definitely kick-ass for a Dell (I just bought a 6000 recently).

                      I was thinking about getting a 9000, but didn't want the extreme LCD sparkling effect, since I watch DVDs alot.

                                                  I haven't tested how long it really lasts.
                                                  I'll throw a dvd in and see how it does when I'm done working for the day. I'll let you know how it does.

                                                                                                                                      I just got a Toshiba Qosmio G15 and it has generally the same specs but it's literally a portable tv studio! 17" screen, burns DVDs, watch tv, yadda yadda. I even plug my PS2 in and use the monitor to play games. Battery life ain't what it should be though. Only drawback.
