Funny thing about .XXX
When it finally goes on sale all these high and mighty people here will be among the first to snap up the domains. I don't want to hear ANY person here that is so adamant about how bad and evil .XXX is, posting about their new .XXX domain because of you buy one you are a HUGE hypocrite.
|
And they will buy them...left and right
|
They = We.
|
I will probably stick to .com's myself.

They also be the first to bitch about how horrible and unconstitutional it is when the US starts filtering .xxx or even blocking them. They will then all run and support the FSC or ACLU and call anyone who doesn't support them a hypocrite. :2 cents: |
Yes, I bitch about them now, and yes, I will buy them. It comes down to staying competitive - I'd rather not see them exist in the first place, on matter of principle, but I'm still going to buy them up to try and get an edge.
|
Bullshit, im completely against it, but if its HAPPENING ANYWAY, you gotta keep up with the times, no matter whats thrown at you. Its called running a business.
Your post is stupid :2 cents: |

Do you actually HAVE principals. I mean ones you actually believe in. Or do people espouse crap here for show? See people with REAL principles are willing to make sacrifices for them not sacrifice their principles. Thus someone who is really that indignant about .XXX would NEVER buy one even if it costs them business and money. |
GatorB,
it's fine to have principles, but at the end of the day only $$$ counts |
<<< Hate the Idea while standing in line :)

And by the way if this is indeed they way it's going to be then all you complainers SHUT THE FUCK ABOUT IT ALREADY, YOU HYPOCRITES! |

Not a small part of income depends on some premium .com adult domains. I am absolutely against .xxx since it's both bad for this industry and for me. However, should it go live in a few months, I will definitely do everything I can to try to tregister some premium .xxx domains, so that - should they be made mandatory one day - I wouldnt die from hunger because my .com domains became worthless. :winkwink: |

I belive that putting .xxx in the registry sucks balls. I will still believe it while I'm registering whatever .xxx names I can find that are worth money. I'm not pretending to not like .xxx coming out, I'm just making do with what I get. If I = hypocrite then you = moron. |
being against it and making the best of it can both apply. I am against .xxx (used to be for it long ago but change dmy mind once I realized the possible implications and who's involved and why they are involved) but If I had teh chance to snatch up a really good one word domain, you're damn right I will. I'm here to make money, not blacklist the world and leave money on the table beause of something I cannot change is here.

You're a fucking plain and simple idiot. I RERELY condone such namecalling as it's childish at best but I say that with great emphasis as you are one. People are here to MAKE money... not throw it away. People are against a lot of things. Yet it boils down to survival. To survive you need money, so survive well you need more money. Snatching up these domains equates to a potential to more money. Snatching up these domains can be a really good investment and if the worse case scenario plays out as I think it will within about 5 to 7 years, This may be the difference between Mcdonnald's or living comfortably. (ok, extreme case but you get my point... I hope) Holy fuck, can't you see past your pride? Who the hell are you anyways? In this past month you have popped up (yes your join date is late 2001, however I never heard of you until recently) and been nothing but Mr Negative, opinionated beyond what your stature in this biz really is and a royal pain in the "the sky is falling" hide. Big deal, people who are against .xxx will buy some. BIG FUCKING DEAL. CRY ME A RIVER!!! It's business. Businesses do things they don't want support all the time. Look at car manufacturers, do you really think they want to make more reliable vehicles? They however do to keep a competitive edge. Another example: 2257 vs. Foreing webmasters. Everyone is pretty much P.O.'ed about this and against it but still wish to comply the best they can. it's all about business and keeping a competitive edge. Your "sky is falling" attitude, insults to people and overbearing opinions are making you look like a fool more and more every day. Are you even a businessman? |

B) So having opinion that doesn't agree with YOU is "overbearing"? Ok so I have to agree with the majority even if they may be wrong? Sounds a lot like 1930's Germany or being a member of the Republican Party. Sorry, but I have an opinion I will express it. If that bothers you well too bad. C) Me looking like a fool? Oh no I am on anonymous messagebaord looking like a fool. How can I show myself in public again? You seem to have mistaken me for someone that gives a flying fuck what YOU or ANYONE ELSE thinks about me. D) Me a businessman. Who knows. Just a guy trying to get by in the world I guess. try asking these question of the idiots that say shit to me. No wait you won't because you agree with them so they can treat people anyway they want. That's the way it works huh? It's very simple, if YOU or anyone for that matter REALLY REALLY can't stand me ther is the IGNORE feature that lensman was kind enough to have on this board. Please use it. I do. Maybe I should be using more often, but I try to give everyone the benefit of the doubt and I don't wish to ingore people just because we disagree on things occasionally. Anyways here is the link to ignore me if anyone just can't my posts. http://www.gofuckyourself.com/profil...=ignore&u=7592 |

I'm a small time player and I always will be in adult. If the rules change, then so too do business practices. When the clean air act was passed, did heavy industry shut off operations to protest for their right to pollute? No, they changed to fit the new regulations, since there was not a damn thing that could be done about them. This is one of those cases. I can't do a damn thing about the coming of .XXX, and since we all know its going to become a requirement eventually, at the rate things are going now, its just better to secure my domains early. Do I like .XXX? No. Do I think .XXX is right? No. Will I let it push me out of operation because I don't like it? No. Fuck .xxx and everything that looks like .xxx, I'll be using .com up until the day its illegal to do so, but I'm sure as hell going to make preparations for when the day does come that I'm forced to use it. This is no different than 2257 - protesting by noncompliance is a bad move. I know your opinion on 2257, so are you going to not comply with it because you don't agree with it? No, the best way to beat 2257 is to not be in violation of it, and to contribute toward its reformation. .xxx is no different. This is no different than the jews under nazi rule who began selling possessions and stockpiling essentials once deportation to the ghettos was announced, but before the deadline had come - its about preparation for a bad, bad future. |
You'd avoid snapping up some good domains just because you have an objection to .xxx domains? You're an idiot.
|
My two cents is the only ones worth buying would be really good ones like porn.xxx and that sorta thing, but those are probably already snatched up, so its pretty much pointless.
Its like I explained on another thread, webmasters shouldn't fall for the hype and boycott anyone that uses an .xxx That means no trading traffic with an xxx, no sending traffic to an xxx paysite, no using a host with xxx, no buying content from an xxx. This is the way to show that xxx is a stupid idea. Let some of these blowhard domain guys buy thousands of them and come on here and say how ifuckgoats.xxx gets 50 typins a day. People did the same thing with the .tv domains and tried to say how they would be more popular than .coms lol. |

You can already buy them; at least the non-premium such as hardcore.xxx etc., as the owners of the registry know they could sell those for a lot of money.
I don't see this really happening or catching on. Some people may develop sites, but the masses won't. Matt |
