I'm seeing a new girl for the first time in 3 years...

it feels good.
but it feels strange.

how should I go about getting over the strangeness from not being with the same person anymore?

:helpme

Paraskass 06-04-2005 12:22 PM

she is the exact opposite of my ex.
it's a weird feeling. she actually cares.

my ex paid for dinner once in 3 years... this girl has invited me on the first meal we had.
she unlocks the door for me in the car after I let her in. Ex never did that....

little things man, so fucking strange.

it is.
I'm just not used to it.
Pretty fucked up having somebody that cares for you when you haven't experienced that before.

I was always the sweetest guy with my exs, and never really got it back in return.

LittleSassy 06-04-2005 12:33 PM

dont you think its a good news?

But I've been burned, and I feel there is a wall around me opening up...

taibo 06-04-2005 01:30 PM

that sounds great man.. nothing to worry about

FilthyRob 06-04-2005 02:53 PM

Congrats, and it won't feel strange for long

adonthenet 06-04-2005 02:59 PM

same case here..
strange in the strat..
but new start.. is a good start :)

p1mpdogg 06-04-2005 03:00 PM

it wont last.. after 2 months things become monotonous

chase 06-04-2005 03:13 PM

Just show her you appreciate those small things, and chances are it won't stop.

I know what you mean...after 5 years married, I'm in the dating minefield again and it's hard to know what to expect after so long. But just enjoy the newness and put in as much as you get and your chances are better that once the newness wears off you'll have something more substantial beneath it all.

I hear ya bro.. getting that treatment in return is one of the most intimidating things you can experience.. its just not what youre used to.

mrthumbs 06-04-2005 03:51 PM

But you know what.. just let it happen. Go with the flow.

Paraskass - enjoy it, appreciate it, say thank you and respect it. You tend to take the little things for granted after awhile, so if you'd rather this than be taken advantage of or not considered, then make sure you're equally as nice to her.

Glad to hear you're dating again! :) :thumbsup
