Sponsor Content and 2257

Well sponsors? Whats your official word? I havent heard SHIT from the sponsors I use.

Either you help your webmasters get 2257 compliant or TENS OF THOUSANDS of websites created with your content will dissapear. If you think anyone is going to 404 their traffic to your site after you refused to help them comply, I wouldnt hould your breath.

So with 20 days before 2257 becomes law, where are the official statements?

RRRED 06-04-2005 03:41 AM

Cut and paste from Adult.com news on Realitycash

"05/27 - RealityCash FHGs are 100% 2257 compliant
We have all the IDs and releases for all of our galleries, because we shoot our own content. Additionally, we will soon be announcing how all our webmasters can be 100% compliant with their RealityCash content! The point is, don't fool around with anyone else, we've got your back."

:thumbsup

Webmasters are in very good hands with us.

BoogieCFZ 06-04-2005 03:42 AM

Glad to hear you're on the ball RRED.

Its a fucking shame a good number of your competitors are not.

Sponsors and program reps this is a great fucking chance to make your program look good I hope you dont blow it.

RRRED 06-04-2005 03:47 AM

There has been lots of time to prepare for this so yeah it's really a crying shame no one got on it till its too late.

Programs will be dropping like flies now

RevSand 06-04-2005 03:50 AM

I am waiting to find out from a few key sponsors I use also... If I have to pull down all the content its gonna suck..

Thank you to adult.com for being so quick to react i am hoping others are following your lead.

Maybe you're logged in with a different url? Like GFY.com, or GFYBoard.com?

Lester 06-04-2005 07:40 AM

Always come in as www.gfy.com with Firefox.
Says:
Welcome, Lester.
You last visited: Today at 01:42 PM

so the cookies sure seem to behave.
I can post (like I am now)
just can never go to any of the links within gfy like the one above was posted

oh well......
not that big a deal.....

Right, and the link above was to GoFuckYourself.com, not GFY.com. That's why you must log in. If you change the url to this:
fucking-around-and-business-discussion/472654-realitycash-gallery-affiliates-2257-a.html
it should work, right?

tradermcduck 06-04-2005 07:51 AM

Time will tell...

Lester 06-04-2005 08:55 AM

Good point, I never noticed that.

That would explain it perfectly.

Cookies are usually attached to a domain, so my GFY ones won't work with GoFuckYourself

makes sense now
thanks

I'm sure a lot of programs are still trying to become compliant, much like myself. We are working our own 2257 issues and reproducing content that webmasters can use.

What bothers me is that RealityCash comes and says they are compliant, when they aren't. Just because you have the ID's on hand doesn't mean the galleries/sub domain is compliant, no banners, ads, etc, are compliant, the 2257 statement is incorrect, the 2257 page is incorrect.

Doesn't seem right that RC says they are, pulling webmasters in, when they aren't.

RogerV 06-04-2005 09:06 AM

My new program coming out this month will be 100% compliant. all the creatives will also be compliant.

Stay tuned :thumbsup

I agree with some of this.
The link to the 2257 page doesn't have the correct wording, and neither does the 2257 page.
The 2257 page states that RC is the secondary producer of the content and then has information for every content provider on the planet underneath.

If you shoot the content yourself then you are a primary producer.....and also under the new rules it doesn't matter if you're a primary or a secondary you need to list the custodian of records for the site.....RC is pointing them to other content providers.

That's not compliant with the new regs
:2 cents:

HushMoney 06-04-2005 09:18 AM

Hey Everyone,
We at Hodough, just like most programs out there i'm sure, are still figuring out the reg's with their lawyers. The DOJ made them as vague as possible and we want to make sure when we do make the move, it is absolutely airtight. We do shoot ALL our content IN HOUSE and have the id's and model releases all scanned and ready to be emailed out. Give us a few more days to get the final word back from our lawyers and any webmasters sending us traffic will have all the info to become compliant that same day.

Thank you for your patience.

Matt_WildCash 06-04-2005 09:38 AM

When you guys say Content how are you USING this content?

Gallerys? Free sites? other (which other exactly?)

Well I would like to hear from NastyDollars and BangBros online. I'm sure some of you have 100's of galleries produced with their content.

If we use their content on our galleries, hosted on our domains, it is not enough to point them to a 2257 page that they host, we must have a copy of the records and maintain them at our place of business.

I see nothing at either of their sites that specifically addresses this?

BoogieCFZ 06-04-2005 11:40 AM

Bump.

19 days my brothers and sisters. Either help us comply or your traffic will die!

:)

well i dunno if that's true but johnny cochran liked to rhyme and he was pretty successfull.

Sponsors take care of their shit first. Right now they are on a wait-and-see attitude in case there is an injunction and/or parts of the regulations are upheld. Why would they send out document IDs only to have to undo everything after lawsuits get filed?

This, of course, doesn't help affiliates who -in the best case scenario- will have a few days left to become compliant. If I were an affiliate I would try to have my shit together yesterday and not depend on any sponsor throwing me a bone. Perhaps that means, as Lenny2 suggested the other day, to take down all pics for which I have no IDs.

Breakyourself 06-04-2005 12:04 PM

2257 could end adult internet!

From the NastyDollars site. If you check yous stats it's in the NEWS section at the top of the page.

we have been getting a number of 2257 inquiries. we will have an online record-keeping system made available to webmasters, fulfilling all the necessary requirements for 2257, on june 20th.

xXxtreme2005 06-04-2005 12:05 PM

this shit really sucks

FilthyRob 06-04-2005 12:06 PM

This week I am approching all my key sponsors for what I should be doing here for them. I have already had a single girl site owner pretty much tell me she is not giving out her info.

Hmm, thanks, I did not catch that.

If the online system allows us to download the records for each of the pix sets, then that should help. June 20th is cutting it close.

p1mpdogg 06-04-2005 01:17 PM

Epic Cash is 90% compliant...

we have a few things to fix that will take about 5 days and we are 100%

never fear pimpdog is here

Epic Cash

are you helping your webmasters who are using your free/provided content on their own servers become compliant? that's whats at issue here.

Gawdy 06-04-2005 01:32 PM

I'll give either full docs with the 100% exclusive content I give to webmasters. or if the webmaster wants not to keep records, I'll supply non explicit content and banners all exclusive to the webmaster and me

thats one of the issues we are trying to solve. not all cotnent providers are giving up the docs, so we are sorting what content we can provide info for, and weeding out the bad. we have no choice in the matter, cant force the copntent provider to give us shit. so unfortunately some webmasters are gonna have to do some work and remove some things if they want to play it safe. every single other program out there is in the same boat that gives out free cotnent to their affiliates. no way around it
