I already own almost all good .xxx domains

Just kidding.

Ha!

This is my first BS topic. I've seen plenty of others, thought I'd break my cherry.

In all seriousness...

Will it be possible for the government to "force" adult sites onto the .xxx TLD?

Think they'll try?

Please explain to me why peole think the US will be the ONLY country to make it's citzen use .XXX? Doesn't the UK have alaw the prevent people from the UK selling porn though the mail? So not like other countries don't have prudish laws.

The US Government ofcourse, World-Police :1orglaugh

ChefJeff 06-03-2005 04:53 PM

I just saw Team America, World Police. It was good.

But isn't it funny, that is the role the US seems to play.
If something is going wrong somewhere in the world, send in the US military, negotiation seems to come second.

Anyway, the .xxx domain will happen, but I don't see how any law could pass that would FORCE all US based adult sites to .xxx

It would violate the first amendment, que no?

Once again why is it only the US that would consider such a law?

There are more than those two countries in the world.

Where would you draw the line of what should be under .xxx?
How would it be enforced?
Would people just give up their domains and move to .xxx and lose all listings they have (SE and other)? I know that I wouldn't.

Just a few questions. It's an impossible task to move all adult sites to .xxx.

You guys have got to be kidding. Move and be free? Think about who issues .com domains, and stop talking crap.

tradermcduck 06-04-2005 09:56 AM

sig placement in a stupid thread

KRL 06-04-2005 10:02 AM

The worst part of the internet for us business owners is that our most critical and valuable component, the domains we need to operate and make it all happen, are not a tangible entity that we physically have in our control.

That is frightening when you think about the magnitude of investment and money involved.

Good parenting, education and filtering software = the best option to protect kids.

Babagirls 06-04-2005 03:52 PM

to make only the US use .xxx domains is the most stupid idea i've ever heard of.

they cant still be using the "it will protect kids on the internet" bullshit on that one, cuz the US goverment cant force every other country to use .xxx domain extentions.

WTF ever happend to WATCHING YOUR KIDS & WHAT THEY DO?? Is that considered "Old School Parenting" now?? Fuckin christ.......
