Why dont they just make a .family suffix for family sites

or .kids or something, and then only have G rated sites there for younger people?
Like Yahoo did with Yahooligans. All family friendly stuff.

It seems easier to do that and have a network of clean sites that families can visit than do go through the blizzard of millions and millions of adult pages on .coms and try to get them to volunteer to move over to xxx.
Its way more manageable and family oriented companies would love to sponsor something like that and dump money into making it work.

why burden the family friendly sites? they arent evil

Dalai lama 06-03-2005 12:20 PM

It would get tons of press too, so free advertising for the sites who move over to .family

I didnt see that.
I think it's a good idea.
There'd be thousands and thousands of companies and groups who would easily spend millions to sponsor something like this.

yea, but the objective is probably to get rid of porn altogether, "protect the kids" is just an excuse that most Americans will buy into...

If I was a parent and worried about my kids surfing around, I could lock out all the internet except for sites that are on .family.
Every parent would do it. I think it's great
And then I as a parent wouldn't have to worry about non-family sites that are on .com, .net, .info, .cc, .co.uk, .nl, etc.

One more step towards a Keyword-based internet. It will come.

parents can do that now with software that filters all sites
the problem is parents dont want to waste their precious time, they want us to police the internet to make it safe for their children. lazy fucks :321GFY
as woj said, this is just an excuse to get it pushed threw that people will get behind.
