How many of you rank for good mainstream KW's on google?

I do well on Yahoo but I think my site is just still too new (yr old) for google. So I'm attempting to purchase a domain regged in 98' to see if I can improve my luck on google.

try searching using this , supposedly it tells you if your site is sandboxed

it seems to work for a few sites i have ranked well on yahoo right now , but no hits coming from google ( its a new site ), but searching using the no-filter method my site also appears high on google also , so maybe its sandboxed and will gain rank later . or ??

budz 06-03-2005 08:19 PM

yup probably the case.. how new is the site?

because of this information i'm no longer going to register new domain names when starting new projects. best just to seek out an existing name several years old with established backlinks.

Thank you for that excellent link. I'm going to lay off the link dumps for June, add content, and try to only add 2 or 3 excllent links this month. Several of my keywords go from page 1 (no filter) to "invisible" (normal search). Google is one tempermental mistress...

its also important to note that that robert taft tool removes other filters aside from sandbox - this is what i've been told at least. so there could still be a chance that once you aren't sandboxed, you still might achieve those rankings due to some other filter.

My mainstream sites do much better on Yahoo than on Google...
