He deserved jail time for sure, after a trial. Cops don't have the right to hand out punishment, they don't have the right to beat anyone like that well after they're subdued. People who support those cops are blinded by racial prejudice and the fear they're sold on TV every day. If that was a white women being beaten like that, even if she was driving high on PCP and resisting at first, there wouldn't be much debate. Those cops would be in jail for a long fucking time.

Chris Rock said it best:

"Everybody knows if the cops gotta chase after you, they're bringing a beat down with them."

Sad thing is shit like that happens all the time, the only difference about King was that someone was taping it.

At least black people were brave and smart enough to riot after the cops were let off. I love the black community in the US, they're the only ones left in the western world with the balls and mindset to stand up to abusive authority. White people just stand in line and do what TV tells them.

I'm not excusing the police here at all, but the amount of PCP is Rodney's system would kill a small horse...

When finally stopped, King refused requests to get into the prone position and appeared to charge one of the officers. He was beaten and arrested. King was charged with felony evading. Charges were later dropped.

The man resisted and went after a cop. a beat down to back him off was warrented. A continuous beating by 100 cops for 3 freaking days after they got him down was not.

Rodney King was a degenerate druggie who put peoples lives in danger that night.

Its like the OJ thing, black people dont pick their battles well. OJ is one of the biggest uncle toms in black history. He was one of the very first blacks to be used to market products to white people. And they made that case which had nothing to do with race into this big racial thing.

He def deserved/deserves a beating for getting high on pcp and driving on a street putting numerous children at risk. ..

BUT , we only know of this stuff AFTER it happened.. The cops did not know he was high or what was happening at the time ( as far as i know ) They knew he was not cooperating , but he very well could have been having a diabetic shock or something medical that caused him to frak out etc etc ( maybe he was deaf ) . At the time the cops dont know any of this, so they had no right to beat him..

The L.A. riots were "controled" the way the government wanted. They rioters were pretty well contained and allowed to loot and burn their own neighborhoods. What do you think would have happened had they gone to Beverly Hills and started burning shit down?
