Some hosting don't even know new 2257
I just asked my ISP to see how they view the new 2257. What they replied me is:
"This general law does apply to all our customers as stated in the AUP that you were required to read when purchasing this server. If you are not in compliance now, please do so or you risk the possibility of having your service terminated. The AUP states: Company will cooperate fully with any criminal investigation into a Customer's violation of the Child Protection Act of 1984 concerning child pornography. Customers are ultimately responsible for the actions of their clients over Company network, and will be liable for illegal material posted by their clients. According to the Child Protection Act, child pornography includes photographs, films, video or any other type of visual presentation that shows a person who is or is depicted as being under the age of eighteen years and is engaged in or is depicted as engaged in explicit sexual activity, or the dominant characteristic of which is the depiction, for a sexual purpose, of a sexual organ or the anal region of a person under the age of eighteen years or any written material or visual representation that advocates or counsels sexual activity with a person under the age of eighteen years. Violations of the Child Protection Act should be reported to the U.S. Customs Agency at 1-800-BEALERT. And Law 2257 states: Minors are incapable of consenting to perform in sexually explicit depictions and are often forced to engage in sexually explicit conduct. For these reasons, visual depictions of sexually explicit conduct that involve persons under the age of 18 constitute illegal child pornography. The record-keeping requirements, codified at 18 U.S.C. § 2257, are crucial to preventing children from being exploited by the production of pornography. Violations of the requirements are criminal offenses punishable by imprisonment for up to five years for a first offense and up to 10 years for subsequent offenses." They think I am doing child pornography? Haha.... I bet they even don't know the ID docs requirement for every set of pix. They don't know becasue of this new rule, how many customer they will lost. Sorry, time to say goodbye to US host, move to EU is a much better choice. |
What are you talking about? The host has no responsibility to police whether you have proper 2257 docs or not. Our only responsibility is to shut you down and report you if you have suspected CP on your site.

Something to bear in mind baddog... remember Bush is on attempt 2 of the law demanding all US ISP's provide their client data to the DOJ and it is "probable" this may pass this time around. BTW.. Thats the law where everyone has secrets and ISP's are not allowed to tell their clients data is being passed out. |
Hi webby, is it real? if that's real. It's real shit. How about ccbilleu? If I am using ccbilleu, will they pass my info?
