really? i don't think verizon offers DSL for that fast and cheap in my area yet. damn.

There are 4 test cities in the U.S. for the new fiber optic DSL. I am just lucky to be living in one of them.

They also have a 30 mps package for $199.95. But I dont need that, 15mps is just fine.

Our little town has its own telephone (and cable) company. The speeds aren't horrible but I really have high speed envy :(

I got 2 friends in teh Cambridge area who have it and both had 10-20 minutes of downtime until they called and got fixed on phone.

Bah, I'm Jealous. I'm in Murrieta, it's available 2 blocks away, but the morons at Verizon didn't think to wire up my street before anything was built on it :). So it looks like I've still got some time before they'll roll in the fiber to my street, and I can't get them to give me an approx time that they will do this.

Someone's been digging up blocks of concrete all over the neighboring streets for the last couple weeks though and I haven't got to see what they were doing .. even though they pulled up two in front of my yard. Hopefully this was one of verizon's contractors.

and it's not DSL, it's pure fiber to your home so in a few years when you need more bandwith they just up it. And it's not distance dependant like DSL is

Adelphia and Cox already upped their speeds to match Verizon. Comcast would probably do the same soon too

It is Verizons contractors. Thats where I live. It is one of 4 test cities for Verizon that is going 100% Fiber Optic. You will have it shortly. You will also have fiber optic phone service and TV (On Demand) as well.

HAHAHAHA..no, not in Elsinore. Elsinore is where my office is, this is at my house.

In Elsinore, we still use two soup cans and a string for phone service.

ya and watch you get shitty speeds, its probably not even true 15mbps, for 35$ a month :) because no one in their right mind would give you a direct 15mbps connect for that price constantly. anyone that has dealt with bandwidth in a datacenter knows that :)

I get 4 mbps with Comcast here in ATL. 15 is crazy. :thumbsup
