Thumb site owners (whatcha yea gonna do)
No matter if you are a thumb TGP or a Blog whom posts thumbnail previews as part of your posts. It's clear the 2257 is going to be a hassle even if it doesn't ultimately stand up in court, we will still have to comply for the time being. Top it off with it's now down to roughly 23 days to comply and I still haven't seen much come out of the sponsors that will allow us as affiliates the ability to comply. I'm guessing we will see lots of sponsors posting on the boards at the last min, saying they are now ready. Whic would leave us affiliates screwed at the last min, giving us almost no time to get all the records together.
So what are you going to do in order to comply with these new rules? Switch to text sites? No explicit thumbs? Run to Nicaragua and drink margaritas with Juicy? Turn in your application to Micky D's? Or do you have something else planned?
I personally don't mind text, it's great IMO and I'm personally working more on SEO stuff these days anyway, so text will be fine by me. The only problems I really see is it could be devastating to your traded traffic, switching a thumb TGP to text. It's almost a given that a good portion of your trades might not survive the switch.
So I'm just wondering what some of my fellow thumb site owners are thinking and what is your plan of attack?
Personally I'm going to be switching to text but I'm going to have to have limited amounts of thumbs, as I can't see any way around it in order to keep some of the trades going. So the thumbs I do keep will be mostly all facial images cropped from non sexually explicit images. Overall I see this as a blessing in disguise and I think in the long run conversions will go up, however I do think there will be a short term hit for the worse.
So what are you planning to do?
