Oh God please no

Elder Bush would like son Jeb to run for president

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - George Bush, the president's father, would like to see another Bush in the White House someday, saying on Tuesday that he would want his son Jeb to run for president when the timing is right.

Let's pray America is not that stupid to vote for another Bush.

After the laughing stock that the state of Florida has become in the past 6 months....i dont think it will happen

JD 05-31-2005 07:05 PM

i think he will win if he runs. The Bush mafia will "pull some strings" and MAKE it happen

Furious_Male 05-31-2005 07:06 PM

How has Florida become the laughing stock?
Last time I looked, there were 1000 people moving here each day, unemployment is so low that they have to run ads on the radio to recruit people. Not saying that this is a paradise, but it's far from a laughing stock...

Terry 05-31-2005 07:07 PM

Even though I am Canadian, it still would affect me .. so lets hope not!

Unemployment is low because the jobs are

A) construction jobs that are needed to rebuild from 4 hurricanes that hit it last year. Where's your job when everything is rebuilt?

B) minimum wage service jobs. I guess if you want to make McDonald's a career.........

Mako 05-31-2005 07:14 PM

Unlike W, Jeb Bush is actually very sharp.

That doesn't change the bend of his political leanings obviously, or make him any more palatable versus W to those on the left, but at least he can speak the damn language lol.

Spunky 05-31-2005 07:15 PM

That doesn't surprise me in the least

Unemployment has been low long before the 4 hurricanes.
A job is a job, you got to do what you got to do to support your family.
Median income in Florida is around $30,000 per year. It should be around $45,000 if it wasn't for the Orlando area which pulls the State down with its quarter million tourism service related jobs.

Na! Seriously... I now actually feel sorry for US people. OK, I know they elected an idiot (and I'm not saying that cos of any Repub/Dem bullshit - he just is an idiot in anyone's language), but to have this thrust on em is a bit much!

Whether ya are aware of not, there are loads of things happening in the US now that make a mockery of freedom/democracy etc. The adult biz is only feeling the effects of small portions of their "ideals". Why does everything end up an "issue"??

There is 2257 for a start.. a good act if it was really for child protection - but sadly it's not. Now the Admin want ISP's to give up their client records without telling the client (defeated on round one, but round two started). Ya won't have to hold your breath long for the law that says... "all domain registrars much submit their data" and, next is a law which makes it a felony to make these small error in WHOIS data... rest assured we ain't see half of it yet.

Now.. which country would you like to operate your adult business and have you booked the shippers? :-)

I know about Floirda I lived there for 10 1/2 years still keep up on things by reading online versions of Tampa Tribune and Sarastoa Herald on a daily basis.

And if you read $30K doesn't by you much when the average price of a house in Sarasota was $150K in 2003 and is $300K today. Did incomes rise by 100% in that time. Did McDonalds workers go from $7-$14 an hour? Um no.

If you want to know statistical data on floida like median income and such here's good place.

Median price of a house in Orlando went from 180k to 225k in 2 years. Who's buying those houses? Surely not the dude working at Disney for $6.80 an hour.
Median price of a house in the Fort Lauderdale area is right at $350k. Who's buying it? Surely not the waiter at the Westin Diplomat.
There are those who have and there are those who do not, but Florida is in no way in a slump. I understand your hatred of anything that is closely related to Bush, but Florida is a bad example for you.

pornguy 05-31-2005 09:14 PM

So far, Jeb has said that he is not interested in running pre prez. And he has done great running Florida, unlike his bother that ruined Texas.

Not saying that he would make a good prez, but I dont think that he would be that bad.
